Which is pretty much how early adoption has worked for every piece of new technology ever released in recent memory.

Early adopters pay full price. Early adopters are subject to bugs and other facets of the technology that doesn't work as advertised/expected. In return, early adopters get to use the technology on the first day it's made available.

This is the way it works. This is the way it has always worked. The complaining about this makes no sense at all.

I'm not implying we should be entitled to anything.

But I find it a little unsettling when gifts are handed only to those without any (for lack of a better word) tenure.

 

^^Most people probably wont read your entire post. They see bundle, price drop and just post without seeing your actual point. So basically you are a minority because people don't like to read.

 

even if i knew then, what i know now, i wouldn't change being a day one buyer, i've had enough enjoyment out of it to to out weight the cost.

but i do see where you're coming from, electronics will drop in price, that is a fact, but i think most people didn't expect to see the X1 to have price cuts so early on.

It's been almost a year....... time to move on. Deal with it. You decided to be one of the first, accept your decision.

 

It's always been this way in the electronics industry. I remember the first DVD player I bought cost me $600, and that was after they'd been out a couple of years. I guess people pay for the privilege of having new products before mass production drives
the price down.

 

Seriously no one is alienating you. But this is getting a bit old. I mean seriously you should see the deals I'm swing here in Australia. Xbox one with kinect and five games for less than I paid. And don't even get me started on the Xbox 360 deals that are
going on right now. After all the years I put into that with 4 rrod, do I feel they owe me anything. Nope. Early adopters always get the bum end of it but we also get to play it now. Could you really have waited a year? I know I couldnt! And yes I read you
entire post!

From that perspective, I can completely understand. It's the pursuit to reward more, even after the purchase is made that gets me.

Sure it would be nice to get a free game but as a Day One buyer I don't feel any type of way. Common sense told me before launch that there would be a TF bundle (huge game they were pushing), white version (employee made leaks), COD bundle (there's always
one), etc. I could have waited but did not want to.

MS is a business and that's how I look at them, I don't expect to feel "appreciated" from them.

I understand the expectation of better deals and bundles coming out later. That's, without a doubt, to be expected. My unease is over the continued embellishment of their new customers that are already done with their purchase.
