Any method to reduce update download sizes?

I'm a casual gamer. About 75% of the time I launch MSFS Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 , it says there is a large download that needs to be obtained prior to the game functioning. Which obviously means that I can't play the game until I download the large update. The problem is that every month or two, there is another large update. I don't know if this occurred to you, but you're losing about half your customers... Because... Most of us don't have the patience to wait for a four hour download in order to play a game for 2 hours a month. The updates are taking as long as the game time. So we uninstall the game and tell our friends not to buy the game. I really feel like there should be a way to skip updates... particularly if the updates are very recent and I'm playing in 'offline mode' so to speak. I could understand a forced update that is like , a few GB, but today I am looking at about 100GB of downloads before I can play the game... and I just can't deal with it anymore. I'm extremely disappointed most of the time I attempt to sit down and play this game. I can see hundreds, if not thousands of people that feel the same way as myself. I'm telling you... you're losing customers. The downloads should be smaller. I feel like you're sending whole packages instead of deltas. Maybe there is a technology that Steam has that you don't have for sending only changes to files, rather than complete large packages?

I am unaware of any methods of reducing an update size. But there are ways to speed it up some of these ways include

Updating one thing at a time

Limiting background app usage

Task Manager if on PC to check if something is using up your network

There are many more you can find with a few searches.

I have same problem with screen not locking but have not downloaded anything new. It is also possible to enlarge or reduce image size while locked. The only thing that is locked is the ability to move the board itself. This must have started with the update
that gave larger puzzle size. Please fix !!!!

Are you able to uninstall and reinstall the game without any issues? Is this a disc or digital game?

Sorry to hear that you are missing out. Unfortunately Microsoft can't reduce the size of a game and still keep it functional. The size of the game on disc is the same size as what you would download. The only thing you can do is acquire a larger storage
device to hold games of a larger size such as this.

Does anybody have any ideas on this?

It appears to be a restriction of upload studio not allowing to reduce the size of a clip that exceeds 5 minutes before uploading.

Any method to reduce update download sizes?
