  1. Any help for Disabled US Military Veterans?

I've been a gamer in general for a very long time now. I'm the type that always bought many games that fit me and my play style. Hell, gaming motivated me to get a job at 16 in order to have my own money to buy whatever game I wanted. This is why when I
was forced to be medically discharged from the U.S. Air Force due to a genetic disorder my pride and the child like gamer inside of me took a huge hit. After I was separated from the military I was forced to wait to get my VA compensation, which meant no more
consoles or games for me due to problems that arose from numerous surgeries to attempt correction of my disorder and hard hitting medications I'm stuck taking for the foreseeable future. Once compensation finally came, the money was and still is just enough
to pay for food, clothes, and to keep a roof over my wife, children, and I's heads not to mention other stuff like car, electric, and all the other stuff that needs to be taken care of. Between the stress of trying to take care of my family and my constant
trips to the hospital for either check ups on the state of my medical condition (which the concern is formation of benign polyps that 100% will develop into cancer if not removed from time to time) or to ensure the pain medications perscribed by my doctor
aren't becoming too much for my system to handle, games are my primary outlet.

Over the course of 6 to 7 months I was able to scrape together just enough to get an Xbox One (with a few donations from very good friends of mine). The crazy part is most games that I've played were rented from the video store or borrowed from friends.
As you can imagine, renting video games is so much more expensive in the long run than just buying games, but since I've been on compensation $60 up front is a pretty hard thing to handle. Now that Xbox One seems to be really rocking along it makes it that
much harder to try to enjoy them when there are so many great ones. How's a guy supposed to pick just one during this time of the year when the cold forces people to stay inside?

My question is: Does anyone know of any programs or organizations that help in getting games for the newer console (had to sell all my old consoles and games to pay bills) to people in my situation, who no matter what can't let the joy of gaming die? Not
looking for anybody to just hand over anything to me, my pride won't let me beg anyone for something that isn't vital to me living my life. I am just trying to find a way I can actually enjoy playing without having to worry about the days counting down till
I have to return a game because that ruins the experience, trust me! Any and all help anybody can give will be greatly appreciated! I'm also willing to provide proof of my story (VA ID showing compensation status or paperwork on Veteran Affairs letterhead)
so that you can be assured everything is as I say and that I'm not just trying to get free or discounted stuff. I really want to support the developers/publishers, but I just don't have the means to do so.

    Thanks for reading this post!

Any help for Disabled US Military Veterans?

    Hi there!

Microsoft offers US military users a small percentage discount on certain products on a special web page of their online store for military personnel etc.

However on that page it says: "A maximum of three items can be purchased per order. Bulk orders not valid and may be cancelled. This program is for personal use only. Military offer excludes Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles, Xbox Live, Xbox Games, Windows
phone with contract, refurbished products, Office 365 University, Windows 8 Pro Student Upgrade, and services."

So essentially it looks like you can get discounts - but mainly not gaming accessory items.

Take a look at the following links for more info on the offers for military personnel.

How about parenting, bullying, mental disabilities, etc?! I grew up watching whatever I wanted and playing anything I wanted, while understanding we couldn’t swear or anything and my parents had 4 of us. All 4 of us are good human beings who help veterans,
rescue animals, run successful businesses between building custom homes, personal training, or working for the military. Video games are not the problem.
