Any good racing games out there?

I'd 2nd Blur as the Xbox's Mario Kart equivalent. I'd also second any Forza title, the best in racing, but very Simulation. Get Horizon for a more relaxed race. If you're looking for something really crazy check out Split Second. Think turtle shells are
awesome...how about crashing a 747 on your opponent mid race?

 

I still think NFS Most Wanted (the original) is the best arcadey racer on 360. Successive NFS's sucked. They hit a sweet spot and then in true EA fashion veered away from it, and slid grill first into a ditch with Carbon, flipped and rolled roof-first into
a tree with Undercover, Pro-Street and the rest...

... then not long ago someone said, NFS Most Wanted was crazy popular, used copies are expensive and hard to find, people liked that game! Let's remake it! Then ta-da! Overall total miss on the reboot from everything from graphic design in logos, menus,
and GUI. Failed rebooting the overall goofy/gang tag feel of the first game. Even messed up the cop chases. Bleh.

I've liked TWO NFS games in the life of the franchise. NFS (R&T) on 3DO. And NFS Most Wanted (the original) on 360. I still recommend them both despite their age. lol

 

Have to agree, NFS most wanted was fantastic, despite its age if you managed to get it, I'd highly recommend it.

 

"Blur" gave people who hadn't played "Mario Kart" in a long time a chance to play a game that was a little like "Mario Kart".

Comparing "Blur" to "Mario Kart" is like comparing "Darksiders" to "Zelda".

Not in the same league.

If you're still on the 360 then "Sonic Super Star Racers: Transformed" is the game you are looking for.

 

Mario Kart 64, road rash....that's about it.

I'm not huge into racing games but i have to give a thumbs up to NFS Shift..recently picked it up as a random purchase and found myself playing it 8 hours straight. I had a lot of fun on it the *** pit view is one of the best i have ever seen in a racer
and the sense of speed is amazing. After playing Shift i now am wanting to grab NFS Shift 2:Unleashed...props to Dirt as well.

 

Need for speed shift 2 is a terrible game, the driving mechanics are awful compared to the first.

Its also a very difficult game,even on its easiest setting.

 

Blur, Split Second, and Sonic All-Stars Transformed would be right up your alley.

 

Nt really into racing games as a preference, but I loved my experience in playing Forza Horizon for the first time

 

@TOK..that's a bummer=( I was really hoping it took the fun of the first NFS:Shift game and added more stuff but no one can ever leave well enough alone:/ Guess i'll wait to find it in a $5 or less sale. Much appreciated.

 

The newest Need For Speed: Most Wanted game was pretty fun, especially when playing with a friend and one you being a cop trying to bust the other lol. Never played a Forza game before, hoping one of those games comes to Games With Gold.
