Any decent air combat games for 360?

So, like the subject line suggests I'm looking for a decent air combat simulator for Xbox 360.

I'm not a hardcore gamer (probably only get around 3 hours of gaming in a week) so I'm not that bothered if it's ultra-realistic, just enjoyable.

Also, I'm only getting used to the controller just now before doing any online gaming (after playing the Wii with the kids for years the controller's a complete change and takes some getting used to) so I'm not that fussed if it's a single player only.

Basically I'm just looking for suggestions here, WWII, Vietnam, modern day, planes, helicopters, whatever.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Air Warfare Ribbon

I thought air warefare ribbon was awarded for air to air combat.

The ONLY thing I don't like so well about this game is the melee combat. It feels like im swinging at air. If this game had melee combat similar to Dead Islands first person combat.......This game would be perfect. The first person melee combat in Dead Island
is pretty much the best first person melee combat I've seen in any game period. If Skyrim had that same type of impact when you hit someone, it would be perfection.

 

The only flight simulator game that springs to mind is Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.
It's great fun, I'd definitely recommend getting it!

 

IL-2 Sturmovik:Birds of Prey is one of the best WWII fighter plane games i have ever played sadly it was only the demo and not the full game. Will def have it when they ever have a sale on it. I have Blazing Angels 2 currently and it's pretty cool but no
where near being as great as IL-2 Sturmovik.

Damage Inc. Pacific Squadron WWII

Over G Fighters

I personally own copies of all above titles and all are good games.

And if you can, try to pick up a Saitek Aviator flight stick, makes the games so much more enjoyable and playable.

Wish they would bring back Crimson Skies, that game was great on Live.

 

Over G Fighters - Really good game if you can look past the fairly dated gfx

Ace Combat 6 was ok , but big let down form previous games

I really want Namco to do Ace Combat HD collection, with 4 ,5 and Zero someday , there the best by far

 

Over- G is in NO way even a decent game. JMHO An afternoon of air combat with After Burner Climax may provide a decent destraction for the day but, others have suggested better titles. GOOD LUCK!!!

 

Id definitely say HAWX 1, the second one kinda sucked though!

That seems to be the consensus. Just started playing the HAWX 2 with the friends I played the HAWX with and the majority likes the first one.
