    Any clue regarding if the new gamertags will ever show as is?


    I may have miss something but other friend insider also confirmed not seeing any hiragana or fancy characters in even any new next-gen games like Halo Infinite or Forza Horizon 5 (unless the current versions aren't really next-gen which I'm completely unaware, I still run on my good old Xbox One S).

    Unfortunately, I can't check it myself as I only have changed the "Social Gamertag" (stupidly) and wasn't given the chance to change the "Classic" at the time, as I blindly followed some other insider's link from the official xbox forum and had no clue they were gonna be suddenly two gamertags at the same time, which bring me to the next question;

    Is it gonna be like that forever? are they planning to merge them back again into the new system and implement the new system on classic OG gamertags? Or the idea is to have one as the "account name" and another as the "display name" as it works here in Reddit?

    On your profile does it show both gamertags by any chance? (one under the other) as it could be that the changes microsoft are making to the gamertag system its showing both and has happened for a lot of people who have changed their gamertag in recent months......
    eventually it will just show your 'new' gamertag.

    you can also go to bungie.net and if you've ever played a game with the person and you can look at ur game history and it will show theyre new gamertag

    As mentioned, you cannot reserve a gamertag, nor is there any guarantee it will ever be released.

    That being said, have you tried to change your current gamertag or create a new account with that gamertag?
