Any battery/charger that doesn't require a controller to charge?

With the Xbox 360 the charging base was great for this, you just plopped the batters in it and charged them and usually had one on standby so when your current one got low you could simply swap in the charged battery pack and were good to go, you never had
to plug in your controller or anything (which is great if your controller isn't that close to your xbox/tv).

However with the Xbox one it seems that most battery chargers, like the Plug and Play kit, require you to put the battery into your controller and then charge it up while it's in the controller itself.

Is there no dock or anything that can charge a lithium ion battery pack from the play and charge kit or anything official/good quality?

Just want to be able to charge the batteries without requiring a controller to be used.

:)

Checking battery

This is a small thing, but still, how could this be overlooked? I also wish there was a battery charger that didn't require the entire controller to be plugged in. The double battery charger I have for my 360 is a great help. My console is scheduled for
delivery tomorrow, so I am speaking without experience. I purchased a third-party charger that requires the full controller to be attached when charging. A bit awkward, IMHO.

Xbox one controller says it's connected but isn't working

To resolve this issue, determine the faulty component and then replace that component:

The Xbox One Wireless Controller

To troubleshoot the wireless controller, try using AA batteries, or try a different Xbox One Rechargeable Battery Pack to verify that nothing is wrong with the controller. If the controller works with different batteries, it isn't causing the issue.

The Xbox One Play & Charge cable

To check whether the cable is the problem, try a different Play & Charge cable (or any standard USB to micro-USB cable) to charge the battery. If the battery charges correctly with a different cable, your charge cable is faulty.

The rechargeable battery

To troubleshoot the rechargeable battery, try the following:

Use a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol to clean the four gold contacts on the Xbox One Rechargeable Battery Pack and on the Xbox One Wireless Controller. Then try to charge the battery again.

Try a different Xbox One Rechargeable Battery Pack with the charge cable. If the second battery charges correctly, your original battery is faulty.

Sorry but there doesn't seem to be anything like that at the moment.

what cable do I need to recharge my Xbox X batteries

That would depend on the batteries. If they are standard AA batteries, recharagable or not, then they cannot be charged in the controller. Rechargable AA batteries need to be charged with an AA battery charger. The only battery that can be charged in the controller is the Xbox play and charge battery.

Microsoft wants to steal the consumers money!
The point it gets to when they don't charge is when the batteries are already fully charged.
No, they're dead, seeing as how the controller goes dark after a few seconds of use (if it powers on at all). That's when the
plug/unplug trick is required to get enough charge on the batteries for them to charge on their own.
And if you keep on charging the controller while its already at full charge than that's your problem.
Once the pack is charged, the charger is
supposed to turn itself off. It doesn't always do so.

Xbox one S controller battery charging

What type of batteries are you trying to charge? If it's rechargeable AA, then they cannot be charged in the controller. The only batteries that can be charged that way are the play and charge batteries. To charge AA batteries, you will need a separate
AA battery charger.

Vanguard Controller issue ...

I've also sent the issue to Activision Support,

if i plug into usb and i have rechargeable batteries in the controller, will the batteries charge ?
I don't think that will work? unless it's a Series S/X play and charge kit,

If using something like Energizer rechargeable AA batteries you'll need to use the dedicated chargers for those batteries, an Xbox controller doesn't have the means to charge them.
