    I put this in the Discussion section, maybe it should be support, but I am looking for feedback either way.

    I got the bright idea to stream from the Xbox One, to my 'new gaming PC'. I put that in quotes, because according to the make-shift company it is a gaming PC, but really is just one of those PC Voids in between overkill Office Desktop and an actual gaming
    PC. I imagine for my work horse, it will do web design and Photoshop fine... but anyway, ....

    Though I wouldn't call it a full fledged gaming PC, I am curious if there are really that many people out there sporting something better than I have, or if I am missing some important steps to quality streaming.

    I did it once briefly in the past, and I don't think I messed with it long enough to notice the latency.

    Currently, I am running a quad-core AMD that is basically right on the other of the wall of my Xbox One S. Everything is wired into a router. The Desktop came with 8gig ram, but low and behold, the makeshift company sent me a bad stick, so I am running on
    4 gig right now. I am hoping to get the other 4 replaced by the RAM company under warranty, but if they say I have to go through the manufacturer of the unit, I will probably just upgrade it to 16gig.

    Assuming I said all that in one breath...... *breath* .... so what I am asking is, how much RAM are streamers using? Is my current 4 gig the issue? The GPU has 2gig onboard as well. Does everyone make sure everything else is completely shut down to bare
    minimum? I think the only thing I had open was OBS and my webcam software.

    Otherwise, what is everyone doing to get their units to stream at a reasonable quality and speed? I was hoping to be able to play from the room of my desktop and not have to bring the Xbox into the room when I stream.

    As it stands now, I am not able to really use this feature. I would like to figure out what is different for me than the many online.

    Also, I did see from years about, changing a line of code in the XBOX app. I assume that no longer applies as now there is a very good quality option, and the file you are supposed to modify appears to be non-existent.

    Particularly glad to hear about the DLNA streaming in October. Any news on when PS4 will get it, if it will at all?

    [/quote]Is the quality different when watching the same media on the PC instead of streamed to the Xbox? I stream video to my Xbox from my PC occasionally and the quality is always a bit better as my HDTV performs better than my PC monitor.

    Also, what software are you using to stream your media to the Xbox?

    It works. Thanks. Although I may need a better connection for smooth gameplay with VPN or if there were stream quality options I might have gotten better experience out of it. I think it just streams at your native resolution.

    Prime video quality

    I did find this tutorial on how to change it on your smart phone, and it may transfer over to your console:

    1. Launch the Prime Video app in your smartphone.
    2. Tap on the menu icon and select Settings from the menu.
    3. On the Amazon Video Settings screen tap on Stream & Download option.
    4. On the Stream & Download screen, you can tap on Streaming Quality and
      Download Quality to change the respective video qualities.
    5. You can choose the video quality from data saver, good, better, best or the highest quality possible.

    Other than that, it may not be possible to lower the quality as I assume the Xbox one Amazon prime video app assumes you're on a non-metered connection and doesn't see any reason to lower your quality.

    You could contact Amazon support if you can't find any option or if that doesn't work, above.
