    It says Xbox gold required on the case, but is this for all modes on Anthem or is Gold only required if I want to play with friends? I had a free month of Gold, but that expired 5 or 6 days ago and I haven't tried to play Anthem since then. I hope I can
    just play solo without having to renew Gold.

    Not always.Anthem has a campaign that can be played solo but is still an online only game so a gold susbscription is needed,same as Destiny & quite a few other games.

    You need to be connected to E.A.'s servers as that's where your character & progress are saved.

    Hi Dan,

    Thanks for your post! Any game with a single player mode/campaign should still be playable without Xbox Live Gold. If you attempt to play a multiplayer mode without your subscription, then you will be asked to purchase Xbox Live Gold to play online.

    Unfortunately you need Gold to play online even if you wanted to play solo due to the fact its an online game
