Another XSX Dolby Atmos sound delay post. . .

So I have been hunting a solution to the significant sound delay when using Dolby Atmos on my XSX. There have been plenty of posts that I have read and tried numerous, numerous things to get around the issue, but none have worked.

I have an XSX(obviously), a Lg CX 65-inch and a Samsung Dolby Atmos HW-Q950T (9.1.4 Dolby Atmos soundbar). When this soundbar receives an Atmos signal is sounds awesome and is far superior to DTS-X. It is very, very frustrating to have invested alot of money into this combo and for it to not work as I would have expected.

The Lg cx is advertised as the chosen XSX TV and you would expect it would work perfectly when paired with this device, which it does expect for this one small but major issue; the unbearable sound delay when using atmos.

I have every device updated to the latest firmware. Atmos sound passes to the soundbar without delay from the TVs apps like Netflix and a bluray player connected in same fashion as the XSX. I have also tried it with my old XboneX and it has the same issue.

I obviously wish to connect the XSX directly to Lg CX then pass the Atmos sound via eARC/ARC to the soundbar. This ensures the full capabilities of the XSX are taken advantage of (4k@120hz, dolby vision and all that other visual good stuff which keeps input lag to a minimum). The only way to make atmos work is to set the audio output setting on the CX to “auto”. Selecting “passthrough” results in the XSX giving an error that the soundbar does not support Dolby Atmos.

When set on auto output the audio is completely out of sync, mouths move before they words they say is heard, pull the trigger and fire a gun and you won’t hear the gunshot until you see the round eject or some other reloading animation starts. It is the worst, and I can't play it like this!

Switching the audio output on the XSX to DTS-X doesn’t work, as the Lg CX doesn’t allow or isn’t compatible with a DTX even when set to “passthrough” and wont send the signal via ARC.

Connecting the XSX directly to the soundbar will allow DTS to work which removes the lag, but now adds a small amount of input lag and removes your ability to get a 4k@120hz picture, now only 60hz (which is what I have to resort to). Dolby Atmos will only work if your set the xbox to passthrough. The soundbar will receive and play the atmos audio from the xbox, but wont recognise it as an atmos signal in games or in the menu. The soundbar will only recognise the atmos signal from the xbox when playing a bluray or using an app (like the Dolby Access).

Microsoft please tell me you are working to resolve this issue or at very least give us all a way to solve it!
