Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition

Another World released yesterday for about $7 or so... It's well worth the price - if you like dying over
and over and over again.

This game was one of the hardest games I've ever played and apparently still is. If you have a knack for puzzle-solving, then you're going to love this. This game had some of the best animation, graphics, and audio for its time.

The story follows a scientist who suffers a lab accident and ends up being teleported to another world where he must fight for survival because everything is out to kill him.

This game is absolutely brutal - I've been drowned, mauled, poisoned, beaten to death, crushed, impaled, eaten, electrocuted, blown up, and even incinerated!

This game has been remastered in HD and with remixed surround sound and is worth every penny, IMO - if you get it, enjoy your very short life.

I picked it up last night, and will be playing it this weekend. How fancy are the revamped HD graphics? All the stills I've seen look like they are on the original's settings.

I had this on the SNES, way back when. I ended up having to buy a gaming magazine that had a walk-through in it, to pass one puzzle in particular. Lots of trial & error figuring out everything else - and yup... it was mainly error. So many ways to die

Btw, does it include the sequel, Heart of the Alien? I remember reading about that, but never got the opportunity to play it.

 

It looks the same for the most part, but the much higher resolution sharpens everything and makes it all crystal clear with a few added background elements to boot. You can switch back and forth between classic graphics and HD at any time simply by pressing
Y.

When I have time tomorrow, I'm going to post a video showcasing both versions side-by-side.

 

...so, um, did anyone else buy this game?

 

Oh, and I forgot to mention that there are easy achievements to get worth an average of 50-100 gamerscore.

 

About 2500 points from Peggle 2 alone. Ill pass.

 

That's not a fair comparison - P2 already has DLC that adds additional achievements (which is only worth 1450, not 2500)!

 

Yesterday I bought the game Another World - 20th Anniversary Edition and the conquest Escape Water not appeared, I tried numerous times, restarted my xbox, I left as manufactures and so far nothing. I need help with this achievement.

 

If you're using an Xbox One you can highlight the achievement, press the menu button, and select the "help" option - this can give you a link to the Internet that will show you how to properly earn it in case you're doing it wrong.

If it's a glitch in the game, I recommend contacting support or the developers and let them know about it so it can be fixed or at the very least forwarded to the appropriate people who can.

 

So I bought the game a few days ago and I have every achievement aside from the secret ufo one. For some reason it just wont pop for me. I had a friend play on his account and it popped for him. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

 

I picked it up around a week ago. Still a fun game even though it is very short if you remember most of the original. Like to see Heart of the Alien re-released

 

I purchased this game and I want my money back!! It is too hard. The character movements suck and they are slow to respond.

 

Well, it IS an older game made some 20+ years ago...
