Another noisy XBox One....

My new October 2014 XBox One started smoking and died after only about two weeks of very moderate play. Other than the smoke it ran silently. A replacement arrived yesterday and it's noisy all the time it's playing games. I took a look through this Forum
and it looks like the problem may be solved by a software update but obviously not the case with my console as it's brand new and was updated yesterday.

The sound is loud enough to be annoying. It does not sound like a fan; it's a constant whirring/buzzing. It sometimes stops when a game is not being run but not always. The last thread on this subject suggested that the problem was resolved and if not,
please post another message. This is it!

Weird Noise coming from Power Brick

I've asked this question on another thread so....

I don't know anyone else with an xbox one, but if anyone does, it might be worth trying the 'noisy' PSU on another xbox one to see if it's a console or PSU issue? I still think it's a PSU one, though we can never tell.

I have the same problem. I bought a new white Xbox One two weeks ago and it makes an annoying buzzing sound once a game starts.

But it seems like that many people had this noise while navigating the dashboard which was fixed with the last update.

At this time I have to send the first (burnt-out and dead) unit back to Microsoft and once they've received it, I can initiate a replacement for the noisy box. I saw the YouTube vid; It's hard to tell just how loud the other box is. I can hear mine clearly
over gameplay sound from about 12 feet away.

All the time a game is in play the box buzzes. It does stop buzzing when a game stops, indicating that this is not a fan issue but something else. One post I read mentioned the capacitors buzzing!?

I just got the new machine on Friday and it updated prior to letting me do anything else with it so the latest update did not fix my problem. I'll keep you informed as things progress assuming an MS tech doesn't freeze this thread.

 

The quality of my video is not that good, but believe me that thing is really loud.

I send it in today, I will post an update once I get a new one.

 

I think I can top that noise. My wife bought me the Assassins Creed bundle Xbox One for Xmas...

I've not even bothered playing it, and have put it right back in the box after updating xbox.

 

same problem here. sent the box for repair, came in with same loud noise.

and letter saying they could not find any problem.

microsoft should make a clear statement about this issue.

 

same here but its a software problem so i bought a kinect from internet then i run the update from usb (again) i heard this will fix the problem

 

My replacement console works fine.

 

I sent my console in for replacement for an unrelated problem. I just got the console back and now when I start up a game I get this annoying noise. I tried changed HDMI cords, going straight to the television instead of through the receiver and the same
issue no matter what. I was already without a console for almost a month and I'm afraid this is going to happen all over again. Has anyone found a fix?
