    Another GTA 5 digital installation issue


    okay, so I purchase the game yestrady via digital download. Started the download installation around 12 noon. Left it all day and have come home from work this evening at 4 PM and still installing. Granted it is a big file but this is crazy.

    in the my games and apps screen GTA 5 appears fully installed and there is nothing queued. Upon starting the game I get the loading screen with installing on 73%. There has been no change for the last 60mimutes?? Is this normal or has an error occurred?

    overall, very disappointing!

    Batman Arkham Knight won't install.

    Gta 5 gets to 10% and comes up installation stopped please tell me if you get this issue fixed

    The time to download depends enitrely on your home network. If you have a low speed or many devices also using the network, this will extend the time taken considerably. GTA is a 45GB game, considerably larger than its Xbox 360 counterpart (16GB) and so
    it will naturally take a long time to download fully.

    How do I install the "Play" disk to USB Flash drive

    There has been some PR around performance issues reported if a user also installs the “Play” disc on their HDD.

    Given this, Rockstar has recommended that users not install the “Play” disc and have added this message to their site:

    Example Scenarios:

    I know Grand Theft Auto V has an 8 GB mandatory install. If I want to install the Play Disc too, through Xbox Home (dashboard), is that possible?

    For optimal performance, we recommend only installing the Install Disc, and not also installing the Play Disc to the Xbox 360 Hard Drive or USB drive via Xbox Home (dashboard). You will be prompted to install the Install Disc the first time you boot the
    game.

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

    Please can you try clearing your local saved games from the Xbox, before trying to reinstall the game. You can do this by:

    1. Making sure the game disk isn't inside your Xbox disk tray,
    2. Opening the guide by pressing the Xbox button on your controller,
    3. Going to Profile & System,
    4. Then clicking onto Settings,
    5. Then clicking onto System,
    6. Then clicking onto Storage Devices,
    7. Then clicking onto Clear local saved games,
    8. Then clicking yes to confirm,
    9. And finally, once the console restarts, please try installing the game again via the disk.
    Please be aware that selecting the option to clear local saved games will not delete saved data for games on the Xbox Cloud. It will remove the local saved data you have stored on the console.
