another compulsary upgrade

well planed to play a game tonight and to my dismay another xbox compulsary upgrade

yes i welcome any upgrade but not if its stops me using the xbox completly

so why am i causing a fuss

well my broadband is shared by others its not that easy to download a 400mb upgrade especially when we only have 12mb download speed yes i dont have control of the house to upgrade or get a better speed its not allowed here

so now i have to wait for everyone to not use the internet not an easy task it could be a week

now going by the last upgrades over 1gb in total i have not seen any benefit of the upgrades other than features i dont want or will never use and am sure this upgrade will be the same so whats my point

well if your like me and just want the xbox to play games and not be interested in all the junk that goes with it yes am talking about apps if i use apps its on me phone tablet or pc not the xbox thanks

so why on earth carnt microsoft in all there wisdom come up with a upgrade that you can download when you want to

at the moment my xbox is dead no app will work no online game heck not even a browser can be used

yes i get it ms you want everyones box to be upgraded so were all on the same level but at what cost to the user who doosnt have superfast broadband

ooh forgot to mention am paying for the service on a daily basis GOLD and i carnt use it for a week ahhhhhh

so my only question is this who else would prefer a user controlled upgrade and dont use most of the add on features they keep adding and just wanna play a game online without all the crap that goes with game consoles these days

you can do woad whenever you want however youbdont get it

Everyone who connects to a network MUST have the same version so yes you can use the xbox offline without updating

HOWEVER you must update everytime you want to connect

You must have the same os and game version

This is a requirement regardless of platform

Your aren't going to get far by waiting to update

Maybe you should upgrade your internetmost people we have power saving mode which will allow you to update while you are away unless you are in the insiders peogram

Xbox Live connectivity requires the latest system update so everything operates consistently across the entire userbase. They make these updates "compulsory" in order to prevent Xbox Live hackers from exploiting any security holes
from the previous OS versions, among various other reasons I'm sure.
