Another comment Flagged without reason (Gold Game not downloadable without a Credit Card)

Why Cant I download my "FREE" copy of The Cave without a credit card? I have money on the account, and My subscription is Valid til the 25th of 2017. Who came up with such a stupid Policy? I called support to find out why this is even a thing and I received
3 phone calls. ALL of which the person on the Support end did not answer and hung up after about 17 seconds. Its YOUR Policy. Am I to assume you're NOT open to discussion? And I Still never received an explanation on why my post was flagged. All I did was
provide REAL suggestions on how to Improve the Xbox ONE System in a way that will appeal to the major generation of students in college.

Why is a credit card needed to download a FREE games with gold Xbox 360 Game? This is the most dumb and frustrating issue for games with gold. If on a Xbox 360 you don't need a credit card so why need it on the Xbox One. Some people do not want there credit
card on their account for one reason or another so why alienate an entire group of users? If it is free then make it free. I also tried on Xbox.com but the same result...must put in a CC on the account. Microsoft, get it together.

Is there ANY way to get FREE games without having to enter a CC?

XBOX Games with Gold Question.

I have been downloading all the games with gold games.

But my nephew tried and it asked for a credit card.

He doesnt have a credit card hooked up to his account because he's under 18.

How can he download the games with gold without a credit card.

Also he has xbox live gold.

 

It's still considered a purchase so you need a payment method on file. If this is about the 360 games, you would need to make the purchase via a 360 console in order to bypass the need for a credit card/PayPal to be on file. The 360 store is set up differently
than the store on the One/website.

 

Like Smwutches mentions, you can use a PayPal account. If you don't want to use a credit/debit card on your account, create a blank PayPal account and tie it to your Xbox Live profile. You'll now be able to download the free Xbox 360 games as the system
will finally realise you have a valid payment method.

As for suggesting that Xbox 360 games can be downloaded without either PayPal or credit/debit card, you can head to
Xbox Feedback to voice your support for that idea.
