Annoying with stupid Gamertag error system

I have two account, old one and new one.

I used old account to check gamertag and it's said "available" and of course I can claim it but I didn't yet (because I want use it for my new account).

I used new account to claim it but it's said "taken. Please try another."

And now, it's still available out there but I can't use. How is system stupid and make confused with annoying.

Stupid gamertag system

I just created this account for Brink, because it needs this ....

So i went to change my gamertag (although I do like TougherKitten 2) i first checked availability for Mr Ellos, it was available then i tried Ellos it was unavailable, i switched back to Mr Ellos and it was also unavailable...?!?! so the availabilty check
is severly bugged and thats probably the reason why you need to be so creative with names....

Please microsoft fix this and do a cross reference with all the accounts and "registered" names so you can free up A LOT of names



btw (on my other hotmail account i tried the same before this one and that is how i lost the name Ellos to the void... so i can say this is no accident)

 

Stupid gamertag system

The change Gamertag option isn't meant to "check" tags. If you put one it, it will put a very temporary hold on the name so someone doesn't sneak it away from you. You shouldn't use this option to check tags.

 

Because the system is correct

You just aren't understanding the error

The only way to check for a name is to claim it

Which means you have to claim it on the account in question

If it says it's taken it's taken

The first picture is because you didn't claim it so the system doesn't check the availability

There is something you need to understand

Ngoc phi is the same as or

The non claim system doesn't check for variations

The claim system does

You will just have to be more creative with the name

 

Its only checking for that spelling

 

@ngocphi I think you're misunderstanding it. I just check available and no one who claim it yet. So what the heck it is already taken? Who's taken? Nobody! I understood how you saying. But if "ngocphi", "NgocPhi" and "Ngoc Phi", doesn't claim and own by
someone yet. I hope you understand how this system stupid and waste many Gamertag out there.

The other possibility it is connected to a different source affiliated with Microsoft and Microsoft studios.

If you attempt to take the name example Squid CA for Zune (etc) then you'll receive an error so as Ngocphi mentioned Squid CA is the same as SquidCA or squidca you are not allowed to use it so be aware if any other sister companies that affiliate themselves
with Microsoft and allow claiming usernames.

 

Youndont understand

Ngoc pho.will.show.up.as.available.because of.the spelling

Its only when you click.claim it.thst the system checks.all servers and variations

Its saying.the name.you are trying to claim is taken in some forms other then how you are spelling it

 

You have to be exact in searching for a name

 

Go to the other account and search and click claim it.see what happens it will say no its taken when you actually click claim it regardless of what the previous MSG said

Its only when you actually try to take the name that the system will check

 

@ngocphi Clearly you didn't know. I'm now can claim with Gamertag with new account. That's mean, not any problem with spelling, system is simple stupid. If user check name for available and if name is available then system keep that name unavailable in time
before release it again. Only who checking it will able claim it. After few hours, if that Gamertag didn't take, it will be able to check and claim by other user.
