Annoying Problem Please Help [Lords & Kingdoms Cover Art Replacing Art For Multiple Games]

Having the same issue with many of my titles too, just have to wait it out I guess

 

Since last system update, dashboard became really slow loading every object in views and today Kingdoms & Lords cover thumbnail appeared on a lot of games in my games list. Even multi dvd games exploded in single voices, one per installed dvd.

Thanks for the heads up on this trouble. As good as the box art for Kingdoms & Lords is, it definitely shouldn't be showing up for all these different games.

 

Call Microsoft and complain as they said they will not fix it until the volume of calls reaches a certain number. I have the same issue as everyone here. (800) 469-9269 Microsoft number call and complain users unite. I will not be silenced.

Mister Maka yes there is a need to call them I was told by those very support calls that they refuse to fix it unless the volume of calls reaches a certain point otherwise they said it's just me and refuse to acknowledge its an issue.

 

We are official Xbox Support and we are acknowledging that this is an issue, we've made sure the right teams are aware and we're working to clear this up ASAP. I understand being frustrated and wanting this fixed, but calling phone support at this point
won't speed up the process as we're already working with the appropriate teams for a fix.

We've received word that this should be resolved now. We have a few steps for you to run through to help clear up this box art issue:

- Delete game displaying incorrect box art from hard drive

- Clear cache 3 times

- Power cycle console

- Redownload game displaying incorrect box art from download history

Just to clarify these steps are for seeing the incorrect box art (Lords & Kingdoms) for titles on the Xbox 360.
This is not a fix for box art not showing for Xbox 360 games, if you are having trouble with cover art not displaying for some Xbox 360 games,

Problem still exists even following instructions. The issue is server based not local to XBox. Images are not cached locally so deleting game and clearing cache do not resolve the issue.

 

Also, deleting a game or 2 is not much work. If you have 100's of games showing the wrong box art that is a lot of work to put on the end user to "try". XBox support always assumes it is an issue with the users XBox 360. I have seen this problem on 3 different
XBox 360's with 3 different accounts personally. That kind of points to XBox Live being the problem and nothing related to a specific Xbox account. So clearing the cache is a waste of time. Plus when you clear the cache you have to re-download updates for
every game in your library. That is very inconvenient. Clearing the cache should only be recommended on a case by case basis for individual users having a specific issue.

What is with people suggesting clearing the cache 3 times? All clearing the cache does is delete an configuration file as far as I can tell. That configuration file keeps track of all your games and what updates you have installed. Why would deleting that
file 3 times make a difference? I think if there is an issue with XBox 360 not correctly clearing the cache even though there is no error message stating the operation failed, then Microsoft should be working on a fix for that ASAP. I have seen various users
suggesting clearing the cache 3 times, but this is the first time I have seen official XBox support make that suggestion. It is a bit worrying that no one at Microsoft seems to know what is going on with their online system of late.

I - along with many others, I'm sure - don't have the time to delete and re-download some 15 or so games, leaving aside the fact that this shouldn't even be necessary.

And I think Microsoft should be very careful here. Although the Xbox 360 is nearing the end of its life, and Microsoft is obviously eager to wind down support for it, there are still many millions of users out there, and how Microsoft treats those users
will have a bearing on any future brand loyalty they might be hoping for.

I'll be upgrading in a few months, and until now I had fully intended to get an Xbox One. Now, as each day passes with me seeing "Kingdoms & Lords" tiles polluting my games list, Microsoft is pushing me into Sony's warm embrace...

I didn't delete and reinstall anything, I just cleared the cache (once) and power cycled. Everything seems to be OK so far, but this is Microsoft, so no doubt something even more hideous will happen later...
