Annoying freeze ups

I used to have the same issue. What i found worked for me was that instead of selecting continue I would select load and load up my saves. Sometimes the last autosave or save I had would become corrupt and I would just need to select another while sometimes
the game would just freeze for no reason. That is one reason it is important to save often with this game as it is still possible to get stuck, fall through the map, or just have random crash issues.

To all of you talking about the game freezing with a black screen, have any of you tried disabling autosave? Because I had this really weird glitch once where my game would crash upon going into areas where it automatically saves and I would get a black
screen. I turned off autosave and I was able to get through the rest of the game up until the Battle of Hoover Dam, where it created a duplicate normal save and my game crashed. But up until that point, I could get through the game fine

Also, always, ALWAYS back up your saves. Back them up on memory cards, flash drives, the internal memory on the new Xbox. Don't just save often. Also, never save right near Ranger Station Beta. That's what seemed to create this glitch (I could only save
near Ranger Station Beta after that point)

I guess we can't say enough to SAVE! I just got my first black screen last night when leaving the BoS bunker.

This may help... I noticed that the Quests are sort of mixed up. The computer guy in the bunker let me science out of the jumping virus, I even got the XP for it but the bunker computer is still whacked. I try to talk again and the dialogue is stuck at "Do
you want to try and isolate it?". I skipped back to a SAVE and then finished another little side quest for Stanton. Then I could get in and out of the bunker at least. There seems to be something glitchy with that particular part of the BoS quest. Everything
else is okay and I'm going in and out alright.

A couple of general hints:

1) NEVER use VATS at low health, unless you're already taking a couple of Stimpaks (on Hardcore, as we should all play) to bring it back up. I find I get frozen without doing anything in Vats a lot, just getting beaten to death, and while you always make
it out.... that isn't the case if you're dead.

2) Save when going Ammo shopping. I've frozen a hell of a lot at the Gun Runners, because I'm a big fan of Case Boxes. Any item that suddenly expands causes my 360 to slow down, but I freeze all the time when buying Case Boxes.

Just generally save before shopping, and ALWAYS save if buying ammo components. As a rule I always save before shopping at the Gun Runners.

3) Losing your Autosave upon loading is a pain in the @@@, but there's nothing to be done about that []. Just save often, and I KNOW it doesn't seem worth it, but it will when you're demoralised after starting AGAIN AND AGAIN from the same save from hours
