Annoying Cortana Popup on Bootup.

besides if you read my posts I already stated why I do not want it installed.

 

DogRox1 i am a daily volunteer on these forums so I'll provide as much help as i possibly can there is no need to deny what i say. If you wish for me to will back out of this conversation and let you fix your on issue then i will.

 

No one is asking you to set it up at this time unless you are still getting the notifications when you start up your console. Are you still receiving that notification?

 

yeah I still get it but apparently I'm going to have to live with it, since I don't have control over my console.

 

If you are still seeing the prompt, the troubleshooting steps to attempt to remove it are activate Cortana, let it reboot your console, then immediately turn it off, and reboot your console again. If you are still seeing it after that, please let me know
so we can dig into this further. Until you attempt that step, we will not be able to assist you.

 

no it's not. And I'm sorry I'm not going to install Cortana on my Xbox console. it's just spyware and bloatware. there's a forum of Windows 10 users complaining about it collecting information and everything. its obviously that's what it is going to do on
our Xbox One console also. I did not agree to this and I shouldn't have to install it. Let me ask you this question....why give us the option to disagree with it upon initialization and NOT install it but you are forcing us to install it anyways just to disable
it?? can you please answer that question? that's because it doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be disabled does it? so why even give us that option?

well, since I know you won't answer that question. you may as well Lock This Thread. If the only choice I have now is to either install the Cortana spyware or live with the pop up? well you know my choice already. apparently the options about disagreeing
for the installation is invalid. so anyways you might as well Lock This Thread since I have no other choice but to live with the pop up, if, like you said, nothing can be done until I actually install it.

I am happy to answer that. Cortana comes in the new update and is already installed on your console. It collects the same information that the Kinect would with the Xbox commands; meaning it only collects what it needs to so that it can improve how it interacts
with you. The terms you are agreeing to are for the program collecting that information along with using the program, and these are the same terms you agree to when you have the settings turned on for voice collection via the Kinect in Settings.

Because it's already installed, enabling it (not installing it) and then disabling it will do the same amount of work as not using it at all; I am not asking you to use it. Simply turn it on, reboot, turn it off.

However, you do not want to attempt the troubleshooting step to try to remove the notification so that we can, if needed, see if we can find out if there might be a larger issue. Since this is the case, we'll leave this thread as it is.

If I don't agree to having it collect my information then I shouldn't have to turn it on. If I don't agree then why am I being forced to agree? why even give me the option? that's what I'm asking and you still haven't answered me yet. I do NOT even have
a Kinect and never will. So why would I want Cortana collecting ANYTHING from me. how do you know if that's the only thing it's doing? are you the actual developer of the Cortana? If so then I'm truly sorry. But IF NOT, then you cannot truly say what it's
actually doing. I know what it's doing to Windows 10 users. Why would the Xbox the any different. anyways I'm going to live with a pop up cuz I do not want it collecting anything from me. This topic is closed!!
