    Annoying black screen when switching channels - Sky HD


    I have an annoying issue sometimes when I switch channels on my Sky box whilst running it through the Xbox One. The screen will sometimes just go completely black, sometimes for a good 30 seconds, other times I will get the Lost Signal message for the same
    amount of time.

    It seems to be when switching between SD and HD channels, although sometimes it happens when switching between the same types of channels.

    This happens on both 60hz and 50hz modes. However, I'm wondering if it has something to do with the fact that I'm running everything though an Onkyo AV amp.

    My setup is Sky -> Xbox -> Onkyo AV Amp -> TV

    The kinect controls everything, although I still use my Sky remote as it's just more convenient.

    Has anybody else experienced this issue? Anyone figured out why it happens?

    I also noticed that I was getting more, and longer black screens when switching channels than before. Possibly due to input resolution changes? I.e switching from HD to SD channels.

    I also have my Sky HD box running through my xbox one. I have the same problem. I've noticed that I when switching between HD channels it is fine, but when I switch from a HD channel to an SD channel I lose signal for about 10-15 seconds. This happens every
    time and is very frustrating. I have tried switching the resolution output on my sky box for 'automatic' to 1080i, and even 720p, and makes no difference. Any suggestions???

    Screen goes black or says that cable box isn't connected for 20-30 seconds when changing channel.

    I found a work around to this issue.

    On your sky box, go to settings - sound - you will probably see digital audio set to Dolby D. If you set that to "normal" and save it, it will stop that signal loss issue when switching from HD to non HD channels.

    This is only a work around as you now don't get Dolby Digital sound from your sky box which is not great. I think there is an issue the way xbox handles the switch between Dolby and non- Dolby in non HD channels.
