Announcing Commands

Recently our Xbox One started announcing the commands we are making with our controls. Also it announces when friends are online. Is there a way to turn off this annoying feature?

New XB1 Game Anounncement incoming.

I don't understand announcing that you are announcing a game. Just announce the thing

They posted a release the other day announcing that there will be voice control for us, with the exception of the 'Xbox on' voice command.

Plus over here at least (I would hazard Aus will get it too) they've also said Fifa is going to be a free download for our launch consoles (Not that I'll bother downloading it)

 

That's the Xbox Narrator. Follow these steps to turn it off:

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Go down to the fifth tab and select Settings.

Scroll left and select the default option, All Settings.

The bottom option in Settings is Ease of Access. Scroll down to it and then scroll right to find and select Narrator.

The focus will default to the area where you can turn narrator on and off again. Press the A button on your controller to turn the narrator on. To turn it off, press the A button again.

 

Or if you press and hold the Xbox button on the controller and bring up the shut down screen there should be the option to hit either the Menu or View button displayed in small text to switch the feature on or off.
