2. Dead zone drift on Xbox One Elite controller

Hello has anyone else had problems with their xbox one Elite controller having a slight drift on the analogue stick? When I go into the controller mapping I notice that the right thumb stick has a slightly downward neutral position. Is there any way to correct
the dead zone?

3. Controller wear and tear
Has anyone noticed the stiffening of the analogue sticks after 12 months of use? All the 360 controllers I've had since 2008 started to become stiff after a year. I'm on my 4th controller as of today.
I have had lots of controllers, most of them had analogue drift after surprisingly little use, squeaky trigger buttons and the nototiously "naff" d-pad, some of them had battery pack issues, but apart from that, they are the best controllers available
for the Xbox 360...

4. Analogue Stick Drift - Have you had it?

I have but i tend to be hard on controllers. I have experienced drift on 360, ps3, and xbox one controllers. All controllers since they have introduced a click on the analogue sticks.

Day 1 controller began to drift after 18 months.

Wife's controller's D-pad went wonkey.

XBox ONE is the only console system I have ever owned where I had to replace the controller but I have only been playing video games since "Pong".

Analogue Stick Drift - Have you had it?

only ever had to replace a controller on the 360 due to drifting (was 4+ years old at the time) but my 'player3' xbox one controller has its a button sticking occasionally. Luckily it doesnt get used often

9. Thank you for the replies, please keep em coming if you have had this at all.

My neighbour has had his XBOX for over a year and he says he doesn't have drift. My friend started getting drift about 2 months ago and he bought the XBOX very early, maybe 1 month after it came out 2 at most.

This idea that people can be "hard on their controllers" doesn't hold water, if you're hard on your controller then it should psychically break, like an analogue stick snapping for example. I play First Person Shooters mainly and I can't see how you can
be hard on a controller playing that type of game. The only only game I have that I tend to wrestling the controller and ease off when I notice it is FIFA 16 and I very very rarely play that game.

If a control pad can stand up to anything beyond the analogue sticks being snapped then there should be no issue with the components inside, they are after all blocked by the boundaries of the circle in which the sticks are seated, are they not?

FPS is the worst for controllers developing drift as you are constantly pushing down on the sticks and thus loosening the springs/mechanism inside.. also click to sprint is a killer for sticks!

11. When i say i am hard on a controller i mean i tend to play games that use the click on the analogue stick (like first person shooters) and any controllers i use wear out a lot faster than my husband who plays similar games. I am not saying i am more physical
than anyone else with my controller, just that i sprint all the time and use the left click for scoping all the time.

I have never worn out a dreamcast analogue stick.

I play Mostly Destiny/NHL17/Black Ops 3 all games where you are mashing the stick in for run or sprint. I have four controller and two have bad drift both on the left stick.

I just got the new elite controller for fathers Day so i am hoping this one lasts a lot longer then my others ones.

13. Analogue Stick Drift - Have you had it?

I picked one up recently myself. I have mapped the left thumb click and right thumb click to the paddles so it hopefully lasts longer.

14. "only ever had to replace a controller on the 360 due to drifting (was 4+ years old at the time)"

Man I wish the 360 controllers would have lasted that long for my son. COD was what he played the most and wore those things out. I would just keep the ones with a bad stick and then if the next developed drift I would replace it with a good one from the
one of the drifters. The right and left internals are the same.

My oldest son picked up an Elite and mapped the sticks to the paddles as well as 2 other functions. Should make the sticks last much longer although we have not really had issue with the One controllers. I was thinking of picking one up myself just because
of the paddles.
