I play a lot of Titanfall on the Xbox One and anyone that's played it knows that people rarely talk on the open voice chat. Folks are either partied up or they're going solo and don't communicate. Do you think having an option to invite all of your team
members to a party would be a good idea? Do you think it would encourage people to play as a team and help people make new friends, or do you think people would find getting the invites annoying?

    :)

    The new interface

All we need now is option for XBOX1 members to invite 360 members to party chat. Since you factor in backward compatibility is around the corner for everyone this November.

I wouldn't join, I play extinction and a number of people invite me to a party because they use the kinect, apart from not like people using kinect for chat it also means I have to put up with other peoples friends coming in and out of the party and interrupting
the chat, but its also a hassle jumping in an out of chat if I want to move lobbies.

I would normally only chat in a lobby if anyone asks if anyone is talking in a way that I would want to communicate back, so all the people playing music down their mics get muted or I back out.

I like game chat. (however it would depending on the person setting it up as well, if they stated their intentions in the lobby I would be more open to it, if they just sent an invite I would ignore it)

God no. Clearly those people dont want to talk to me, so why should I bother them with an invite?

I wouldn't assume that people don't want to talk just because they don't talk. If someone on my team sent me a party invite and said "let's play as a team", I'd be well up for it, but I don't talk simply because I pretty much never hear anyone else talking.
I'm not going to be that guy who gets on the mic and starts saying "hello? Is anybody there?", lol.

But sending a group party chat inv, is a much bigger deal IMO than someone saying is anyone talking?

Party chat you can't even kick them at the moment. The more people that talk in the lobby the more people will answer.

I don't really see the point of "inviting all team members to party" when you're dealing with strangers and when on Xbox 1, you're suppose to have crystal clear in-game chat communication with everyone else thanks to Xbox 1's audio codec tech. This "audio
codec tech" is also responsible for why you can't party chat between Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 and why there is no voice messaging (yet).

You have to respect why some peps may not want to talk. Maybe they're tired, shy, your parents tell you not to talk to strangers, girls, etc.

Right, but what I'm getting at, is that I think there are plenty of people who are willing to talk, but for various reasons, they don't. When you play Titanfall, for example, it's basically silence 99% of the time and I simply can't believe that of all the
players I've met in that game, 99% of them don't want to chat or work as a team. Getting

BTW, I'm one of those people - I'm willing to talk and work as a team, but I don't say anything because nobody else does. I think there are various reasons why people don't talk, including not wanting to break the ice, feeling like it might annoy other people,
shyness, thinking that it's some kind of "etiquette" thing, thinking that everyone else in the game doesn't want to talk or play as a team etc.

I guess it can be a good thing. Most of us like being in a "party". Even on 360, when it's just me and only one other friend, nearly all of the time we go to Xbox Live Party instead of Private Chat or Game Chat. What happens if there are more than 8 team
members. Does Xbox 1's Party system support more than 8 in a Party?

It only supports 8 in a party right now. There's no private 1 on 1 chat either AFAIK. The one good thing about voice chat on the Xbox One is that the sound quality is MUCH better than on the 360 as long as someone is using a headset and not Kinect. I was
quite surprised at how clear it was the first time I used it.

What I've been doing ever since Xbox 1 came out is using only my Kinect for voice chat. It works pretty well. Have never used the included headset for voice chat, not even once. I do have a turtle-beach x42 for 360 and can be used on X1 but need a chat adaptor
from M for it. I have to say I am not use to the Party and Chat system on 1. The Dashboard layout of it looks too formal compared to the 360. The X1's Kinect can't be as bad as the X360's Kinect when it comes to voice chat due to the hardware improvements.
Sure peps may prefer you use a headset. I do for the X360. But I want to use the Kinect for X1.

I think it's a good idea and a quicky, since the X1's Dashboard does look too Windows 8, and instead of trying to find the options to do so on what I call kind of a complicated Dashboard which looks like they stuck a PC OS on an Xbox console and stuff.

I think the only real problem with the OS (other than the lagginess) is that parts of it are not intuitive. It's similar to Windows 8 in that respect for sure, as there are things in Windows 8 that aren't easily discoverable, such as right-clicking in the
bottom-left corner of the screen to get that "power user" menu. Lots of people didn't even know that was there until they read about it on a forum, and I think some elements of the Xbox UI are a bit like that, such as the double-tap functionality (double-tapping
B to close a snapped app for instance).

I do really like it overall though. The system feels "next gen" to me and it's ambitious, which is what I wanted to see. I didn't just want a rinse and repeat of the 360 but with better graphics. I know some people did want that though, which is fine, but
I'm hoping that the One does evolve into the "all in one" machine that its name implies it's going to be.

As for Kinect voice chat, maybe it depends how far you sit from it or how it's positioned. One of my friends use it and it sounds terrible compared to other friends who use headsets.
