    An Idea to handle unwanted/spam messages in XBOX console


    Hi

    I have an idea to handle a player receives some hate messages or spam messages.

    Any who wants to send a message to another player, first sender must get approval from the receiver. If not approved by the receiver still the sender can send message but he has to pay for each message.

    If approved, that approval lasts for some defined period, say a week. And then again he has to get approval from the receiver.



    To have a permanent approval, both or group has to approve for that. Anytime any player can leave but to join again he has to go through the approval process.



    This I think can reduce some unwanted or spam messages.

    Yeah I've tried appearing offline for a whole week and still had the issue of the spam messages.

    It's like they've got a computer set to auto find accounts and message them?

    Hopefully m'soft can make it so you can specify if you only get messages from favourite friends, I'd much prefer to favourite my whole list so they can contact me and randoms and spammers can't message me.

    Who knows what the future will bring, we just have to wait and see I suppose.

    Honestly, having your account set to only be contacted by friends really would not work as anybody can just add you as a friend to send the messages. This happens to me. I understand it is annoying, but your best bet is to keep reporting the accounts that
    send the messages. You could set your account to appear offline for awhile to see if they get bored and go away.

    Sorry to spam the thread. Xbox Support have just advised me to clear the MAC address on the console.. I have no idea how this would relate to a disc read error. Clearing the MAC address gets rid of unwanted files. Going to try it regardless..
