An Account still exists even though the Microsoft email for it has been deleted

It takes up to 5 years before it is released

Best way to do it is the correct way

Change the gamer tag to something else then reuse it however you take your chances as it may not be available immediately

Now you have only one option and it's the long one

To recover the account you need to go thru the expired email proccess

Support has to do that for you upon request if still available

(Not sure as it's been awhile since anyone asked for it on forums)

Doing it the cheap way isn't the best way

There is always a chance you can recreate the ms account and then recover it

I want a fresh start with the microsoft and xbox account but i dont want to delete the existing Microsoft account, i just want to put it under my cousin’s email and phone number so that the old account can be his and the new account can be mine. Instead they are both somehow connected to a single Microsoft account even though my email has been removed.

Even though his email changed, he can still reset the password in the Microsoft system for his Microsoft Account which still exists even though the email behind it may be broken. Ask him to go to
http://account.live.com/password/reset for the password reset.

Even though you deleted it from your console, it still exists on the live servers. You will need to change the email associated with it, and put that email on the proper tag.
