    Among us wont work


    Hello, I have been having an issue with among us through the pc gamepass on the microsoft store/ Xbox app, when i launch Among us, sign in, and click find game it gives me an error and says "Could not connect to matchmakers". It also says the the version is v2021.12.14m but when i launch it on steam it says v2022.2.23s. solutions i have tried are re-downloading it, resetting the microsoft store and the xbox app, restarting my pc, and checking for updates on the microsoft store and on my pc. if anyone has any solutions pls reply.

    Sorry to hear you are having trouble playing Among Us. It sounds like your version is outdated.

    On the PC Gamepass app, right click the game on the side collection bar, then click Manage. There should be 2 tabs on top, click Files then it will tell you the version number. If it's not 2022.2.5.0, then click the Check for updates button.

    You can also right click the game and go to View details which should take you to the store page and it should ask for an update as well. Make sure there are no firewalls or antivirus programs that may be blocking updates from going through.

    I would like you to go through the following steps to clear the Mac address and then perform a quick power cycle on your console:

    Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

    After going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

    In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox:

    Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

    Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

    This usually happens when Xbox App has a sign in/sync issue. Would you please try the steps below?

    - Go to Start > Search for PowerShell > Right Click > Run as Administrator.

    - In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

    - Press Windows + R and type in "regedit". Press enter.

    - Search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services

    - Delete the folders "GamingServices", "GamingServices.net" and "xinputhid" (if they're still there).

    - Click on Start > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials. Search for Xbl|DeviceKey, click on it and then Remove.

    - Delete Accounts and Cache folders at:

    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\TokenBroker

    - Also delete Microsoft Store local cache files at:

    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced Options > Reset.

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Xbox App > Advanced Options > Reset.

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Among Us > Advanced Options > Reset.

    - Restart your computer.

    - Open Windows PowerShell again and type the following command:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    - Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

    - Open the Microsoft Store app. Sign in with your account. Then, open the Xbox App and sign in. Try to play Among Us again.

    See if this works and please let me know.
