I don't think anyone is saying that MLS is as popular as MLB. I think the argument is that the sport of soccer is more popular with kids than MLB is. The sport itself encompasses a lot more than just MLS. You also have to factor in the International game
and all of the (way more popular) European leagues that dominate the sports landscape. It's no secret that soccer is either the most played (or 2nd most played) sport in America with kids.

 

Reading through these posts shows that the old saying is true... Baseball is a thinking man's sport. No wonder it's popularity is waning these days.

Soccer might be as much played as youth as little league but that means nothing. It was the same when I was growing up. Evert parent put their kid Into a soccer because it was by far the safest. Everyone played soccer whe they were 8, but as kids get older
they move on to other sports. This is especially so with the more athletically gifted kids. So the stats about soccer and the youth is meaningless to me

Baseballs ratings, attendence, and earnings have been rising every year. That only happens when you attract NEW fans, not the same older fans who already knkw if they like the sport or not.

 

This thread title confuses me. (easy to do. lol) WWE is considered a sport?

Not hardly. It's called the thinking man's game because there can be a Hell of a lot of strategy involved in every pitch and every play.

Now if you don't understand anything about the game, then I suppose you're right and you'll see 5 minutes of "nothing". For those that actually pay attention and can understand what's going on, a good pitchers duel that ends with a 1-0 score can be one of
the best types of games to watch.

 

@goth - WWE is as much as a sport as MLG wants to make video games a sport, ie, it's not a sport. It's campy drama in leotards which = entertainment. Baseball, basketball and soccer/football all work well as video games.

 

OP don't buy a gaming console for onr game. My min is 3 games. I played like a good 20 games on the one. And over 100's games on the 360. I played more games then you dream of playing just going by your statement. That you only played 1 game a year. If you
want just played one game like baseball. Then played the real damm thing.

 

I just sold my PS4 today because of constant error codes. I had a 360 and played all of the 2k baseball games and even though there were glitches, I enjoyed the game. MLB the show was unplayable for me and I went through 3 consoles and I had it this morning.
I put it on ebay and it sold within a few minutes. Going back to Xbox and getting an Xbox One. Madden and NBA 2k15 will get me through fall and winter, but I am hoping for a baseball game in 2015.
