  2. That would be because it is the 1st step in almost every troubleshooting list and It fixes 80 percent of all issues

    Which is true it is almost the fix for 80% of problems and if it doesn't work there are more ways to troubleshoot.

    Anyway, isn't there like 130,000 ambassadors? Someone mentioned the actual number once and I just couldn't believe it. The whole program doesn't seem necessary when just about anyone here is willing and able to help someone with a problem.

  6. exactly...which is why the Ambassador program is a mess. The inactive ones should be cut after six months of inactivity.

    Being a member of the program from back in the day when it used to be an "Invite-Only" program, as an addition to members that were proven to have been helping the community, I have noticed a drop in the "Level of Excellence" that the program used to have.

    That being said, There are plenty of bright, hardworking, lovely souls that are involved in the program for the simple joy of just helping another gamer. As with anything that provides "rewards" back, some will abuse the privilege of being a part of the
    group just to get free swag. They're weeded out from time to time, once they get what they want and get nothing more, they drop from the radar.

    Those of us that stick around through and through, are in it for more than just rewards. The real reward is helping you guys. To label us as all just wanting rewards or all just wanting free things, isn't really "correct".

    As for hearing the same thing from each ambassador you talk to like "Press and hold the power for X seconds", that's usually the first go-to troubleshooting step. Your Xbox is a computer. With any computer, you have to troubleshoot the problem. So we start
    with Step A and work our way to Step Z, to locate the problem in-between. We don't know what's causing the problem 6/10 times, so we try solutions until one resolves it. For the other 4/10 times, we're able to give more specific responses to fix the issue

  11. When they first offered rewards this entire forum was full of people saying "clear your cache".

    I remember reading a thread on the support page that had about 30 replies, each and every one repeated the same "clear cache" information as the last, and each one got a "verified response" and credit for their answer.

    I dread to think what information is being given to people that need help during private conversations.

    The ambassadors i respect are the ones right here on this section of the forum, helping out when they know full well they are getting nothing in return, except the satisfaction of helping people.

    Do they have a knowledge test when you sign up to be an Ambassador? I wouldn't expect them to know everything but surely the basics such as how to file a complaint or how to respond to losing control of your account for example.

    I'm guessing they don't, as those are just two of the questions I've seen Ambassadors ask on the forum.

    @THEOWENKILLER ... that's painting the service with a rather broad brush. They do clean house occasionally, offering assistance to those who may be struggling and making the decision to remove Ambassadors who, for whatever reason, aren't measuring up. Even
    without that, where else are you going to find people waiting to assist users 24/7, and doing so for free?
