Amazon Prime Video Quality Settings On Xbox

I don't think there is an option to do that on Xbox; however, I invite you to contact their support through: Amazon Prime Video Customer Service for further details!

I did find this tutorial on how to change it on your smart phone, and it may transfer over to your console:

1. Launch the Prime Video app in your smartphone.
2. Tap on the menu icon and select Settings from the menu.
3. On the Amazon Video Settings screen tap on Stream & Download option.
4. On the Stream & Download screen, you can tap on Streaming Quality and
   Download Quality to change the respective video qualities.
5. You can choose the video quality from data saver, good, better, best or the highest quality possible.

Other than that, it may not be possible to lower the quality as I assume the Xbox one Amazon prime video app assumes you're on a non-metered connection and doesn't see any reason to lower your quality.

You could contact Amazon support if you can't find any option or if that doesn't work, above.

I checked the list and have done all they have listed. I have reset the router, factory reset the box, uninstalled and reinstalled the Amazon Prime video.

I have spent 5 hours with amazon support and 2 hours with Xbox support. I have an Xbox One and Xbox One X that have the same problem with Amazon Prime Video.

I can go into Prime Video, select a video, the video will play, I hear the audio but have a black screen.

I have tried the Xbox on two T.V.s. I tried the Amazon Prime Video on the Xbox 360 and it works.

Amazon Prime Video is worked up until 10 days ago. And is the only video app not working correctly.

Amazon Instant Video shows any films purchased through Amazon and any Amazon Prime content.

Xbox doesn't have a Prime App, rather Xbox Video which only shows films and shows purchased through Xbox Store.

If films/shows purchased from Amazon aren't showing in Amazon Instant Video app you will need to contact Amazon Customer Support to verify your purchases.

Remember, Amazon Prime content changes so they remove films/shows periodically and add new ones. Amazon Instant Video purchases remain all the time.

I traditionally watch Netflix on my AppleTV Gen 3, the quality is always excellent, It is connected wifi but is near router. When I got my XBox One, I connected it wifi at the same tv as the AppleTV. I had good video on day 1, but low quality on day 2, but
also with Amazon Prime video. I moved the XBox One to ethernet and the video got better for a period. Unfortunately the quality is often low.

AppleTV 5800 at 1920x1080 (Went immediately to that, dropped to 3800 shortly and back up)

X1 (first test) 3800 at 1920x1080 (started at 5xx and then climbed)

X1 (second test) 5800 at 1920x1080 (started at 5xx and climbed)

I would guess that Netflix may be treating the client differently - but since I also have problems with Amazon Prime video, I would blame the X1.
