Amazon Pre-Orders. What are the like?

Hi guys,

I have never pre-ordered a game from Amazon (only Shopto), and just want to know what they are like? I.e do they deliver on the day of release etc?

The reason I ask, they have just listed Tomb Raider for Xbox One at £37 with free first class delivery, where as shopto have it listed at £44.86.

Until money has exchanged hands pre orders mean nothing. Does amazon even need deposits for pre orders? If not then those are even less meaningful.

 

Microsoft can only blame themselves...

I have never had an issue with them, that i can remember but i know a few folk have. Think they have an incentive where they would guarentee release day delivery too, not sure if they still have it.

 

Not used them myself for pre orders but have heard mixed things from people who have.

Couple things have arrived late, I dont care much, I ring up, complain, and get a partial refund.

 

Sometimes they mistakenly send you the games early which is a bonus. Will get an email sent to you with any pre-order codes your entitled too.

I've never had an issue with them, just prefer to use Game if prices are the same to get loyalty points.

 

I have never done a pre order with amazon however I have order games off them and they have come really quick and with no problems....I would recommend them. I am thinking of using them for pre order of games but would like to know if they take the money
out of your account on placing the pre order or do they take the money out of your account on the day they send it....So cheers for any help on this matter............

 

So far they have not taken any money from my account. Guessing it will be on dispatch?

 

I use Amazon for pre-ordering my games all the time and so far none of them have ever been late, and they only take the money from your account once they despatch the game to you. Hope this helps.

 

Been using Amazon for the last five years for all my games, only ever had one late delivery which was guaranteed for release day and arrived the following day instead, which I wasn't fussed about, but they knocked a fiver off anyway : )

 

I have Destiny on pre order with them and can confirm they dont take the money on pre order.

 

I usually use Amazon and I've never had a problem with preorders arriving on time. They're not usually earlier either, unlike GAME and places, but then GAME in my experience are just as likely to deliver late.

I've preordered a few games from Amazon and received all but one game on the release date, the one game was a day late. Never had an issue with them.
