Am I the only with with nothing but problems?

Long time Xbox owner of every system they have ever made. Xbox live member since it was available. I am an avid Xbox supporter, well at least I used to be. Pre-ordered my Xbone from Microsoft the day of E3. When I finally got it after every customer at GameStop
got theirs at midnight even though I pre-paid in July, something I'll NEVER do again. I pay you full price and cut out the middle man and have to wait 12-24 hours later? My Xbone has had nothing but issues from day one. some updates I believe had made a difference
(BF4 for one) but the rest? I can't even tell what they did. My current and continued list of growing problems Since the last update.

1) how do you join a game chat request? Pushing the xbox button when prompted just puts the other app on the screen and you still can't join much less know what's happening to you in the game you were playing.

2) my Blu ray app no longer plays any Blu rays even brand new ones. It won't even recognize there is a disc in the xbox yet it will play games and regular DVD's without any problems. This ugly problem didn't show up till after the last update.

3) bought the stereo headset, loved it. Within two weeks the mic started working intermittently. I'd blame chat but when I plug in the my original pair it works without any issues. At least I can't watch TV late at night without waking up the house.

4) My kinect totally sucks. Sometimes the voice commands work and other times they are absolutely horrible. Some of the channels sound very similar why can't I just tell it to tune to channel and say the number? Funny when I use it to search for apps movies
etc. which cost money it knows exactly what I'm saying.

5) the tracking on my kinect works fine in xbox fitness but for cable or at the home screen the only thing that works is the two hand close screen option. Raising your hand does not get kinect to initiate. When I try to tune the kinect it says I can't see
the floor when all it shows on the screen is nothing but floor around 6/8 feet long and wide.

6) on the rare occasion it does work the hand jerks all over the place , is completely inaccurate and practically impossible to use. It's worse than my original kinect

Did I just happen to get a lemon? Or is the same types of things everyone is experiencing? Any PS4 owners know if they are having tons of issues as well? I don't think I would ever defect simply because I can't stand them but is the PS4 that much better?
I just want to hear thT they are. I would be even sicker to my stomach if their machines were working as advertised and I'm stuck with a big black turd

Nothing but issues with the console.

Hi guys

I got my xbox one as a christmas present and since then I have had a lot of trouble over something that is meant to be "new gen". My main issue at the minute is that I just changed around the room my xbox was in. I unplugged it fully and moved it from one
side of a table to another. Now the Xbox doesn't want to connect through HDMI even though trying every port (4) on my tv. Im at my wits end trying to figure out what is going on as I literally moved it about 2ft. The xbox is powering on as normal making its
beeping noise but my tv isnt showing an image. I had the xbox on before I moved the furniture around. Now nothing .

Secondly, another concern I have is once I power down the console, to the eye it seems as though it is off, but once i unplug, it will make a noise as if you have just plug pulled a PC. I know doing this to a PC is bad enough and now my xbox does it every
time I turn it off no matter how long ive left it off for. Could anyone save me from my insanity as im ready to drop kick this machine.

Some have been very unlucky with there consoles.and some have had hardly no issues mate

 

The whole xbox experience is a farce. The xbox one has NEVER worked as it did on the live reveal and was brought to market at least 6 months too early.

I'm on the beta test program and my drive hasn't worked properly since the 1404 system test (nearly 2 months ago) . Microsoft have released 4 "fixes" since then that still haven't sorted the problem. I don't think they know how to fix it.

 

Nope you're not the only one. I'm in the same exact boat. It doesn't make any sense. It's like this gen is role reversal. I HATED THE PS3. Everything required an extra annoying step on that system. Now it's like the ps4 is the new 360 and the xb1 is the
new ps3. It plays single player games well enough but when it comes to multiplayer it's just a headache.

Why remove the universal game invite? MS invented the perfect party system with 360. Ps4carbon copied it. It works. Why is just trying to chat with your friends akin to spinning a roulette wheel? Will it work? What new and exciting problem will I get this
time?

The OS is a mess. Where's the infrastructure? Why is everything an app? I have never been so ridiculously disappointed. It's actually kind of shocking.

 

And to answer your ps4 question.... The ps4 works as it should. I have never had to hard reset it and honestly other than the store not loading all the time I haven't had a single issue. This too saddens me because at heart because I'm an Xbox gamer, but
in the end, me and my friends find ourselves playing the ps4 more.

 

Well I cleaned the *** out of an already clean disc I mean shining disc with no fingerprints nothing. Now at a blinding mirror finish I got it his Blu ray to play for the second time since I bought it a month ago for my toddlers. It plays regular dvd's,
and games no problem but everything has to be absolutely perfect to play a Blu ray? Wtf is that and it never did it before this last update. When I put the disc in I knew it was going to work because I heard the unsettling click whirl that sounds like it's
eating it. My kinect was already performed horribly but at least the voice commands sort of worked if you talked to it 3 times . I still can't see the hands even though it somewhat works during the tutorial. What a worthless attachment. It's supposed to be
an improvement but it's works worse than the original, which worked decently.

Xbox this has been the biggest let down of all time. I'm so disappointed with my purchase. I'm gonna call them and see about a repair. It performs so poorly that mine has to be faulty.

Once again they are promising a huge E3 with the new CEO (what happened to the last guy?) no hype this time. Once again I am praying to be saved , but this time around I have little to zero confidence in them.

 

I'm supremely bothered because I just cannot bring myself to defect to sucky. So unless mine is defective I'm just stuck with whatever worthless crap they are forcing on us.

What's worse has been the customer service. I tried the free trial for music and spent hours trying to cancel it which you cannot do from the console, you cannot do from xbox.com, you have to get a hold of someone from customer service to cancel it for you
which takes a good hour. I mean wtf is that? You can lock me into monthly auto payments onto my credit card over my console in seconds but I have to jump through a million hoops to

cancel?

I was supremely confident after the red ring of death debacle when the 360 came out that they would never let that happen again and I was totally wrong. Every single person who has an Xbox one has had problems . So I don't think "some got unlucky" I think
only a very few got lucky and even those are having some issues.

 

Last thing, after the last update which was supposed to "tweak" kinect, the voice command isn't working at all unless I'm standing 12 inches from it and even then it performs worse. Xbox I just want to know how does this happen!!!! How can you not have
known or foreseen these problems? Who was using the this layouts, especially the chat and game invite and saying this is sweet what a next gen update! Who are these so out of touch people?

 

It sounds like you've been sitting around doing nothing when you should be talking to tech support. I would have swapped that thing out a long time ago just on the bad ODD issues alone.

I will be honest with you, because honestly I don't care what anyone else thinks. I am on my 3rd X1 currently (to be fair the second was more or less my fault but I digress) and I still like it better than the PS4. Their both great systems...in their own
way. The X1 has innovation going for it, it's at least attempting to try new things. You can't discover the next level if your not willing to try new things, so I at least applaud them for that. At the very least they have been listening to the people that
taking things back to the way they were like on the 360 here and there, like with the chat system. But honestly, when I buy something new, I want something new, not just a revamp of what I already had. If you want a new and improved 360, go buy a 360E.

I do own a PS4, for the sole purpose of The Order and to play BF4 with my brother who refuses to buy an X1 (he's a Scuzzy fanboy). And honestly, it's a 360 with a new look. It's no better or worse than the 360 in reality. Where the X1 fails application
wise, the PS4 fails hardware wise. The hardware failure rate for the PS4 is at 6.5% right now. The hardware failure rate for he X1 is hovering just above 5%. The PS4 is a solid machine that is far better than the PS3, and my hats off to Scuzzy for that
much, but it's only better in that Scuzzy has made a product that is only just now on par with the last generation of what MS has to offer.

I know you've been around for a while, I see that 10 year helmet, and I don't know how you claim to have come out of the early year 360's unscarred. I was a first adopter for the 360 as well and to date I'm on my 8th one, and I've had that one for 6 years.
But this is how being a first adopter goes. You deal with the punches, you put up with the bugs, and you look past the flaws, all because you understand that this is the company that hasn't let you down as badly as the other. When was the last time you
saw MS in the news getting hacked and leaking you CC info for the world to see?

 

I started with the Xbox and went it went live so did I. When? Not sure exactly but I was already online pre-halo 2 which is still probably the most hours I ever put on, an online game. What's ODD? Optical DD I'm assuming? I do plan on calling I mean that
can't be right. To their credit I got the 2nd shipment of 360's. I always left it standing up with no air flow obstruction and it lasted almost 3 years? It was still covered under warranty and they fixed it at no cost to me. That one only lasted a few years
and died so I ended up trading it in and bought the second version hdmi out etc. I still use it regularly but it's starting to show its age and having trouble reading my NHL 14 and at times the tray gets jammed but hey I made it to the new era. It's almost
been a year since the last E3 when I ordered my xb1 and to still be having issues is very disheartening.

What do you think of the voice commands? I've given this xbox lots of room for xb1, I had to move furniture to play old kinect. Putting the tv as loud as possible while tuning the kinect hasn't worked either. I'm tempted to make it as quiet as possible and
see if that helps.

What good is innovation if what they're trying to be innovative with just doesn't work right? All Xbox gamers bear the 360 scars. There's no question of that. I'm all for innovation, but when you strip away the core functionality and replace it with apps
that still do not work right 6 months into the system's life cycle, what good is it? How about taking the very successfull formula and building upon on?

What Sony did was basically steal the way the Xbox 360 worked, put some monster sized tech into it, added a few bells and whistles and delivered a gaming console. I can put a game in, play instantly, hook up with friends, and everything works.

I cannot say the same for the Xbox. I mean come on, they can't even get chat right! It's like the ps3 All over again. The bottom line is one day the system will work right and truth be told it has the potential to blow away the PlayStation 4, but the OS,
or should I say the 3 different OS's that the Xbox One has running are an absolute and total mess.

Who cares about original series? Who cares about digging up E.T. Cartridges? Use that time to fix the thing or at the very least answer to us, the consumers, who have been faithful and supported their brand for the last 10 years.

 

I just tried the exact same disc that worked 12 hrs ago and low and behold it won't even recognize it anymore. Everything else works so I don't know if it's a hardware issue or from there updates. Everything works, doesn't work so sporadically who can even
tell

 

Had xbox 1 since xmas . Changed it 3 times still no good. freezing, not let me sign in. Not reconising discs ,and jumping all over the place. Done everything to put it right on telephone ,chsnging ping settins . Still no good.ps4 seems more likely now
