Oh man this couldn't have been Microsoft's intention, but boy do i HATE the cloud with a passion now. Last week all this nonsense started and 0 improvement has been made. Last week i made this thread:

[Tech]What is with the syncing data issues all of a sudden? • r/xboxone

And here i have listed all the steps i have done, while chatting with Microsoft last week:

[Tech]After i tried all this, data syncing issues persist :( : xboxone

    -----------

The latest and for me sadly...last step was factory resetting the Xbox One. Guess what, it didn't fix a thing. Just now i tried Tomb Raider, Alien Isolation, Elite: Dangerous and a few others. So i start Tomb Raider and i got the syncing data message again,
taking AGES....what else is new, sigh. Since i wasn't far yet in my second playthrough of the game i decided to completely remove the savedata from console and cloud. Then i booted the game up, cancelled the syncing data message. Started playing the game from
beginning until i saw it autosaving. Quit the game, booted it again...no syncing data message, all was well. But that was after i removed it all, nobody wants that.

So then i tried Alien Isolation, it took 10 minutes to get to 99% and at 100% it gave me the error that i could not sync from the cloud just now. SO....SO frustrating. For some games it doesn't even reach 50% for that message. WHY OH WHY can't i just choose
to let the *** console load up the local savefiles? What frustrates me to no end is that...even if i do fix it (which right now seems it's only going to happen if i remove all savedata of all games) this horrible *** can happen again, cause this stuff just
happened out of the blue for no reason, so it's not even my doing but i am pretty ***. Holy *** man. What am i to do? If i could only load up the savefiles from the *** HDD i could let it autosave and the syncing would be gone.

Also...some games DO load up fine and only show the syncing data message for a few seconds with no error at the end. But the majority of my games, like GTA V, Witcher 3, and so on...takes age and resulting in errors. WHY? And.....any advice left?

    :)

The truth about the Xbox One and why I like it better than PS4(long)

    I'm excited for xbox one

I have 3 xbox 360's in my home now and I use the cloud for all my game saves to go between different xboxs. Everybody says that the cloud sucks and syncing your games takes way to long..but

I have been using the cloud only, and my hd as a back up once and a while. And when it says "syncing ur games save from the cloud"' It literally takes less than 5 seconds.

I have 2 big xboxs and 1 slim, and they all 3 have been functioning the same way.

I believe this can only get better too!

Hard reset fixed this issue for me.

  5. Trust me..i've done that countless of times now, as many other things.

It's all just very very odd, cause just now i tried out AC Black Flag and in a matter of seconds (it did show me the syncing bar) it finished and no errors. I then made a new autosave in the level, quit the game and started it again and there was no syncing
    at all anymore.

If these *** other games (GTA V, Lords of the Fallen etc...) didn't take ages to sync AND fail while doing so, i would be fixing this issue in no time, the same as i fixed it for Black Flag. When i spoke to MS last week and i explained them this, they said
it must be the games and that they were gonna contact the publishers/developers, so....by that logic the majority of my games and it's all on the developers of those games? I highly doubt that.

Just did the same for Crimson Dragon.

But then just now...i boot up the FFXV demo, takes a while...get's to like 60% and i get the error:

We couldn;t sync your data with the cloud just now.

It's just weird....but also so frurstrating.

I don't see the logic in any of this.

It used to be much simpler when you could just carry your profile/saves on a flash drive.

  7. So, do you have the choice to turn off cloud saves? I wouldn't mind opting for that, The "Cloud" to me is just a Buzzword for technology that isn't new and won't last. Oh, but what about Crackdown 3? Better question, what about better hardware?

I actually had similar issues after I got my new console. You see, I had all of my games and saves on an external through my brother's console. I figured once I got my own, it was simply a matter of moving the external over to the new console. Sadly, that
was not the case. Despite already being fully installed and updated on the external, nearly every (read - not all) game needed an update or to be synced. I fixed most simply by reinstalling them altogether or by moving them onto the internal HDD. Sadly, this
did not fix all of the games with this issue. Minecraft is 1 such example - I spent a couple of weeks trying over and over again to get my worlds to sync properly before they finally did.

I had issues with it with Xbox 1 Minecraft Edition. But wait 1-5 days and the problem should go away. It's the 21st century, 2015, and The Internet is not 100% reliable. No one gets perfect internet, no ISP in the world can deliver Perfect Internet which
is going to be 100% reliable 24/7. It's Thursday evening for me. I'm on my Xbox 360 watching World War Zombie on the Netflix App. I got a Dashboard notification 5 minutes ago saying disconnected from Xbox Live, yet my Netflix movie is STILL playing! It could
be Microsoft servers are glitching. It could be a dos attack. Microsoft does back up stuff on Xbox Live. When XBL has status alerts, sometimes your Gamerscore and friends list go to 0. Sometimes all the messages you have disappear when you check for messages
you got on XBL. Sometimes you have trouble signing in to XBL. But when XBL is running normally, your friends list messages Gamerscore are working properly because Microsoft backs up that stuff. The same should apply for game saves. Unlike Xbox 360, on Xbox
1, I heard all game saves are saved to Microsoft servers.

It would appear Netflix servers are BETTER than Xbox Live servers. My Netflix app movie on Xbox 360 is still playing. Even though my console disconnected me from Xbox Live for some reason.

  11. Hey smiles, I was disconnected from Live for the 1st time at 1Am this morning while playing GTA 5 online. Took about 10 minutes to get back on though my internet was fine, I kept getting GTA Online unavailable however it was XBL down.

Anyway, the question, can you turn cloud syncing off?

    @ OP,

I would have suggested checking the Xbox LIVE status but you said it's being going on quite a while now? Obviously if there's a Service Alert out then it could cause issues.

Have you checked with your own broadband provider to make sure everything is ok your end?

(Should of said, I haven't read the links you posted so you might have already tried these ideas!)

Are you wired or wireless? if wireless, is it possible to try it wired?

I've swapped consoles in the past, had to download games again, synch the saves but never had issues like this. The only game that took a while to synch was Forza 5. It got to 99% pretty quick then just stayed there for about 10 minutes. I thought it had
bugged out but it finally finished and away I went.

I've heard friends getting error messages while synching but like Rippen said, a full hard reset solved it.

Unless it is Xbox LIVE having issues but I'd of thought if it was we would have heard more people reporting the problem then I personally would definitely contact your broadband provider, make sure everything is ok and go from there.

Let us know how you get on. Hopefully others will have some advice etc.

    Good luck.

  14. @ Lofty

Doesn't seem to be my connection. I have downloaded demos recently, speed seems normal, issues still persisted when i connected to my phone's Hotspot etc. The only thing i can try, but that's going to be next week, is take my Xbox with me to my bro's house
and see what happens there. If this syncing doesn't happen.....then it IS my ISP. I did try a few more things just now. I added my bro's account and logged in and tried GTA V, still syncing, so it seems it's not my account that is causing these problems.

I am connected wired by the way, in my experience it's just more stable, plus for me it's the only way to have a open NAT. There's a bigger problem now, for some reason all my local savefiles seem gone, so i have to depend on the cloud now, which means i
am effed. Since the files were already gone (i didn't see any savedata for any game anymore when i went to 'manage game'. ) i went into settings> system and removed all local savefiles, cause it was the one option i had not used yet. I fired up GTA V and this
time the syncing took long, very long. It got to 99% and stood there for quite a while and that got me a little optimistic, but eventually it still failed. sigh.....

I'm gonna go into chat with MS in a few minutes from now. Oh man why did MS not give us the option to put savefiles on USB as well? Or hell...let me disable cloud for savefiles altogether, right now i'd PAY to have that option.
