It may be a minor gripe, but am I just missing where to find the link to 'latest post' on threads? I'm not usually that bothered with a change in format so much and try to reserve judgment until I get used to it, but it's kind of aggravating when they add
new features to make things better... and yet you can't find common sense basic old features that were useful...

Every area is a support area now, it's like spot the discussion forum and I don't the blame people who make the posts as there is a million choices when creating a thread.

I'm just glad I've got gaming communities on my Twitter and Twitch so this place is a little redundant. I still visit nearly every day out of habit, but I don't post because I just don't have any motivation to be a part of this community right now.

I am not fond of them but you are probably not the only one that like them. Navigation is terrible in my opinion.

Over the past few days, it feels like Microsoft has made like a 20% speed improvement with the loading of these pages. We should enter that into the genus book of records ^.^. Anyways, can someone draw a unicorn on here. It's the most interesting post in
2 years I've seen on this forum. When in a Minecraft thread, someone drew a unicorn on here, using ?></ and other keyboard characters. It got lots of thumbs up, even from the moderators. I liked it when Cloud was mod. He got on well with the younger people
on here. As for my signature, i'm fine with no signatures on here. I also decided to get a PS4 Pro will pick it up tomorrow since it releases 10 November NZ/Australia/worldwide. And Sony has a NZ$639 RRP on it. I don't think Microsoft can beat that price with
Scorpio, since Microsoft likes overcharging especially on the NZ market where their prices are more than the currency conversion even with NZ GST on top of their asking price. I will look into exchanging my Day 1 Xbox 1 console (but I'll keep the Kinect!)
for Scorpio when it comes out. The reason why I got PS4 Pro, is because I want to play World of Final Fantasy, and Final Fantasy XV, with high visual fidelity. Square has not made these games for PC yet. And since Square Enix took 10 years to make Final Fantasy
XV, I maze well enjoy it when it comes out November 29, 2016, with high visual fidelity, rather than wait another year for Microsoft to get Scorpio out (something like late 2017 -.-). But I'll get an Xbox 1 copy anyways, so I can brag about it and say wooo,
I love this game and it's out, on the Activity Feed.

I love Xbox. The Xbox 1 UI is better than the cheap PS4 4.0 version UI. But I've tried both demos of Final Fantasy XV on Xbox 1, and the first one had poor frame rate, bad anti-aliasing, and the native resolution looked like 576p and then your Xbox tries
upscaling it to 1080p, a bit messed up.

 

If the Scorpio is everything that Microsoft is saying it is, then I can't believe it will launch for under $500 (US). Video cards that can do 4k at 30fps retail at more than $600, and while they will no doubt get a bulk discount it isn't going to shave the
price of the system, when all the other parts are added in, down to that $500 mark. I can see Microsoft taking a big hit on the price to get units into people's hands.

As to this forum it's clear that it has been designed as a support system and not a discussion forum. The opening post remains at the top of each page, so the question can easily be found again, and moving to the next puts you at the bottom of the page rather
than the top, so you can see the most recent answer rather than follow a conversation.

Perhaps Microsoft should go the Bioware route and close down their forum and have a separate entity like the Answers HQ for all their user led support.

 

Microsoft can still sell Xbox Scorpio at say a $50 or so loss, and still be comfortable with it. They have to remember it needs to be affordable! Gaming consoles are generally much cheaper than high end gaming PC's. So it shouldn't be too much more than
the competition console is coming up with and the pricing for that is quite fair too. Microsoft has over $100 billion dollars in assets. They can afford expensive prototype printing machines. They even comfortably spent millions on JUST designing the Xbox
1 controller. They can also easily make up the loss of console expenses in Xbox Live Gold membership fees, and their overpriced office software or stuff. The competition console Sony has given a RRP price of NZ$639. And that's with hardware which is LIKE 4x
more powerful than the original Xbox 1 (68GB/s DDR3 bandwidth vs. 218GB/s GDDR5 bandwidth) When PS4 original came out, Sony RRP was NZ$649. When Xbox 1 Launched with Kinect, Microsoft RRP was NZ$749 (or say US$499). I say they need to keep the cost down to
a maximum US$699. Scorpio doesn't release until what could be late next year. And the price of hardware drops over time.

As for this new forum layout, it does take some time getting use to. But a forum site run by the biggest software company, I'd expect better than this. I mean check out Frontier's Planet Coaster forum. Come on this site, lol, all I get is

No it's not an internet/ISP issue, as I have Vodafone NZ high speed 100mb/s download 10mb/s upload. It's the way they design this site, and the type of servers they use for this site. I could go on Planet Coaster forums and it doesn't give me this

loading screen nonsense.

 

That's just it. If it can do everything they claim then it is not going to be affordable unless they take a bigger than $50 USD hit on the pricing.

It's not as if they can be cheap in the other areas. There would be no point in more powerful graphics if you don't have a processor that is capable of keeping up, and those aren't cheap either. This is why I can see Scorpio exclusive games coming six months
after its release. There is no point in having a system with all that power if you are always going to have to limit it because of the previous generation.

As to the forum, a little annoyance is why do I have to hold down the shift key when pressing Enter to get it to recognise a new line? I didn't for my previous post and everything got lumped together.

People shouldn't have to get used to a forum, it should be intuitive as possible from the first moment a person arrives. If you make a person think "where am I supposed to go here?" then there is a good chance they are going to head somewhere else. People will
take the path of least resistance.

Loading times have gotten better but there is still far too much of it going on. In these days of superfast fibre broadband I shouldn't be waiting any time at all for a page to load, it should be near instant.

 

I just had a great idea, since we no longer have signatures on this forum, I decided to put my PC specs in my bio! (well, I just outlined it in a few words). But only my friends can read my bio.

 

I guess I could put it in the Activity Feed too! Just kidding :>{~^D
