so far I'm loving the remakes. I get to play the games I loved before again in HD and get to achievement hunt them again :}

 

I'm with Genchy on this - Give me Gears Of War and Mass Effect and i'll be stoked.

Hell i still play games from 80s/90s for nostalgia so why would i care about buying remakes of games i enjoy for the One whilst i'm waiting for those big titles (well, just the Division really)

 

condoning this pathetic remake scam going on across the new consoles just makes you look like a simpleton that shouldnt be handling your own money. The prices they're asking for, regarding remakes is quite steep considering most just had a graphic update
over a game they've already been paid for (some quite handsomely) and was produced/made in previous years. A graphic update to a game shouldnt justify asking full retail price for the same game that didnt take you as long to create the update as it did for
the original production/testing/patching that these companies were paid for prior. The remake scam going on is in no way justified. This system could of easily had backwards compatibility but that wouldnt of made these profiteering companies anymore money
so they axed it. The only one doing their remake right is Capcom with Resident Evil..the remake will launch at a price of $20...now that is all these remakes are worth when its just a few graphic updates that doesnt take nearly as long as these other full
retail priced games take to make them completely. The fanboys here will try to justify any/everything about this console as they feel the need to only think one way...but I agree with the OP, remakes are being over done, and the asking price for 90% of these
remakes is way too much to give to a company that already profited off the original production. Close your wallet if you're smart..stop the trend.

 

There are certain games, such as the Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and Mass Effect series that I loved so much, if I could pay to have my memory of playing them wiped, just to do it again, blind, I would. A remake of any of these would be an insta-buy for me.

For me, the experience of seeing the misleading marketing for Destiny has left an incredibly bad taste in my mouth. Getting suckered into the Guardian edition for that game has left me wary of buying just about any game on launch day. Remakes represent
a comfort zone of sorts for me. I know what I'm getting.

Currently, Dragon Age Inquisition takes up a lot of my time, but I was fortunate enough to get a 6 hour trial on my EA Pass, so I knew it was going to be good. Other than that, I picked up Shadow of Mordor when it went up half price, and GTA 5, which also
let me know in advance what I was getting. On my PS4 I'm playing TLOU Remastered, which is fantastic, and Far Cry 4, which was free with the bundle.

But after Destiny, I'm going to be super-cautious about buying anything that I'm not familiar with. Dark Souls 2 remastered is coming out on next gen in April, and I'll probably get that for the PS4 to play with a friend.

 

I don't mind them if they work (looking at you mcc )but i want a gears trilogy remake

 

Depends on the game honestly.

I've bought Halo: MCC, Tomb Raider Definitive and GTA V and all were great and worth the money.

There is quite a few popping up recently that has me just thinking "why?" Though haha.

if resident evil is worth 20, why isnt 4 Halo games plus all content worth 40? (4 games compared to 1)
