    Am I shadow banned or is this a bug?


    For the past few days, whenever I joined an Xbox party, I would be blocked from talking to or blocked from being heard by one, several, or all of my friends present.

    Yesterday, my profile picture was reported and taken down (I deserved it to be fair) and I got a notification that my account was suspended. When I went to the enforcement page, it just lists a "content takedown" and doesn't show an active suspension or any strikes against my account. However, when I join an Xbox party with my friends, one or more people are unable to hear me as if I received a partial communications ban.

    I know it's specific to my account because other accounts on my console are not affected.

    Have I been shadow banned or is this just a bug? How do I resolve this?

    Hi Jake R, my name is Courtney and I would be happy to help.

    I couldn't tell you if you are suspended or not since I am a player like you, keep in mind that this is a Microsoft public forum where we are all members and players as I mentioned before and well here we help each other with some problems that we present.

    Having said that, it is possible that the voice chat has a problem, or perhaps you are suspended. Wait a few hours and if the problem still persists, come back so we can recommend some solutions to this problem. Remember that I can only guide you towards a solution, but I cannot solve the problem since I am not a Microsoft employee.

    Hi Shadow,

    this is clearly a bug. It would be perfect, if you can take a screenshot and file that as a bug. Then it will be looked at for future updates.

    Issue launching games using Microsoft store.

    Factory resetting did nothing to fix the issue, I am not sure if you are able to contact someone higher up but any outlet I try has been met with more failure. I am not gonna lie, this is unacceptable coming from Microsoft. I really hope that someone along the chain sees this and can get the bug fixed, I really want to be able to take advantage of the $1 for three month trial but instead, I am caught ring around the bug report.
