am i missing something here?

ok so basically i bought this 1080p monitor for my XB1 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/AOC-I2757FH-Widescreen-Multimedia-1920x1080/dp/B00A46Y6DW) but
when ive looked at videos of games on YouTube from my laptop the quality of them looks so much better. is there something i''m missing? like a simple option in the settings? or something like that?

would really appreciate any help i could get. cheers.

p.s. i do have the 1080p option selected from the display and sound menu in settings

You mean when you're playing as Desmond in 2012? The only things I ever found were the artifacts that were lying around as well as the weird trail of red footprints leading from the bottom of the stairs to the back door where the hideout is (when using eagle
vision). So no, not really... After you get the cheevo for the artifacts there really isn't much out there. At least that I've ever found.

Sometimes when you get a drastically different picture on a large screen you need to get used to the image.

Your eyes are used to seeing what you've normally been seeing when you play and watch TV and so sometimes it takes the brain a few watches to adjust.

This has caused some people to 2nd guess their purchases and suddenly panic that things don't look as 'good as they're supposed to'.

Actually they just look different.

Let yourself settle into it and see if you still feel the same way after a few days.

 

ok so for example when i play COD ghosts and look at the mini map i really couldn't tell that the arrows had gray shading on them, but then when i looked at gameplay on YouTube i could instantly see it. thats not the only difference ive noticed, just an
example. everything in the games just looks clearer and higher resolution on gameplay vids than it does on my monitor

 

Which is strange because Youtube shows stuff at a lower resolution and frame rate than when you're actuallly playing.

But also because the image is kind of squashed down things can seem sharper.

I'd give it a few days for your eyes to adjust and as I said, see if you still feel the same way.

Also... to be honest... COD: Ghosts has been polished for the Next Gen but it doesn't look that great and I don't think it's up to the same quality as previous "Modern Warfare" offerings.
