Am I at risk of deletion?

So my moms friend’s son was at my house, and hes a bit of a troublemaker. Like, hes BAD. So he gets on my xbox and charges over $200 on my grandmas credit card, and now shes mad at me for it. Am I at risk of my account be either deleted or permenantly banned? Can I contact someone at Microsoft to prevent a ban? I have thousands of dollars worth of items on games, and i would like to not be permenently banned or deleted. And yes, i know this sounds like a casual excuse to get out of a problem, but this is the truth. I genuenly wish not to have my account ruined

    :)

Depending on the purchase, you can request a refund for the purchased items HERE. You shouldn't have your account deleted/banned for unwanted purchases on the account. However, if you'd not want him to get onto your Xbox when you're not using it, you can try disconnecting it from the wifi in your network settings when you're over, and you can also try logging out of your account so that he cannot get onto it.

Am I at any risk by providing my address?

Hi there Sauce B. I am Lumie and I would love to assist you today.

It is very good to worry about your security like this!

I do some work in cyber security and have done it partly for my university course so I have a general idea on how to deal with this.

Your address would technically be leaked if your account was compromised.

You are more than welcome to remove your card information after a purchase or use PayPal instead as this will just show up with your email address. If you ensure that all your accounts have different passwords and up-to-date security information and two factor authentication then you should be ok this way.

If someone gets into your Microsoft account they can find your location other ways, I am sorry to say. If other service accounts (like PayPal, Banks, Amazon) are not secure this will lead to a data breach as email addresses are a huge central point for getting into other services - since you can use them to 'verify' yourself. Your Xbox device is also likely linked to your devices page on your account and, even more simply, all IP address' are saved to the activity page as a security measure here: [account.live.com/Activity] These cannot be wiped and last 30 days. There isn't really anyway to avoid this.

To stay secure, you should update all of your security information here: [account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional]

You should also make sure you have two-step verification enabled and preferably 'Passwordless'.

Make sure you never give anyone your email and any personal information including your name.

If you feel like someone knows your email, you can change it is as a log-in alias so it is not a security threat here: [account.live.com/SignInPreferences].

Most of the time, I hear doxxing from connecting to private lobby's or party calls where the doxxer is the party leader. In these private connections, your device will ping the host's connection to update your inputs into the game or call. This means that with a tool like 'Wire Shark' and gimmicky port management (within their own personal network, like port mirroring) they can receive your packet information (the data packages used to transfer data across a network) which holds your IP address unless you use a VPN.

With this in mind, do NOT join their games, party's and especially do not click any links. If they 'drop your docs' - like leak your IP, I would reccommend contacting the police. They won't apprehend the user in most cases but it will protect you from real life harm or fraud.

You can find more information here: [support.xbox.com/help/family-online-safety/online-safety/what-is-doxing-on-xbox]

I hope this helps. I understand it may have been more in depth then you were expecting.

Please do ask if you need anymore information, I would love to answer and questions to insure your safety. -Lumie =D
