Am i alone??

i really like the voice controls of kinect. I hated this thing at first but have grown to love it. It works great. I don't enjoy gaming with it but for every thing els i think its great. Anyone els still liking this thing or am i alone.

I love the kinect more and more everyday..

 

I also love it. Does all the things I wished the original one did better. Use it all the time.

You should also buy D4-Dark Dreams Don't Die and use the kinect. It makes pretty good use of kinect. Probably the best I've seen as in whole game integration and use.

 

I was one those that wasn't going to buy the X Box One if the Kinect was mandatory and couldn't be disconnected, then changed when Microsoft reversed. Well I couldn't just NOT try it out seeing it was packed in anyway. Now I find Kinect a necessity to my
enjoyment of the X1. Voice controls for the win!

Fine, I'll be the first.

I hate it, useless to me and I prefer using the controller for navigation.

If I need a huge camera to act as a microphone for voice commands, I'll let you know.

 

The new model still seems a bit hit or miss.

Buddy of mine has calibrated it several times, under a variety of audio conditions, and it still only recognises him eight times out of ten. 'Xbox Turn On' is lucky to work 50% of the time.

Voice controls are great but they need to have near perfect recognition for it to be something that will be adopted by the majority.

 

I love Kinect, I wanted to get one last generation but it was costly at the time and by the time the price dropped I knew the next generation was right around the corner so I decided just to wait and get it on Xbox one. I only wish it had more commands
and more developers would utilize it.

 

Just curious...did you hate it from the start, have hopes for it, and did you have the first one? A few of my friends had the first Kinect and I thought it was the most useless thing ever.

I've had to recalibrate once (Moved it.) and must say it's 99% spot on; the 1% it doesn't work is from people trying to talk as a command is given. I have it on "Energy Saver" so instant on will never work.

Xboxone on works 99% of the time for me. I love just bring able to call up any game or app by voice at any time.

 

He just finds it annoying that he needs to keep the One media remote handy for the times the Kinect doesn't understand "Xbox Pause". He can try several times before it'll finally do what he wants.

It doesn't happen often but it happens enough that the media remote needs to stay close to hand, and that kind of defeats the purpose of the Kinect.

 

I love it most of the time. Hate it some of the times.

I can't see myself not having it, but when it chooses not to listen when I am saying the voice commands clearly and nothing else is going on in my room and still doesn't do what I ask.. then I hate it. LOL.

 

Vaynel, tell your friend that it's "Xbox on" and not "Xbox turn on" - he'll have more success that way.
