Always online experience broken.

Xbox One was supposed to be always on, but the console is so buggy that the primary fix is to turn it off. Not only that, but updates shut the console off. It's a joke. I don't know how else to describe it.

Online multiplayer has always been a little broken in some sense.

@crunchy...in my experience, online has nothing to do with it. I found all of the barn finds and finished the game 100% before ever going online. (Online multiplayer, that is...technically, I was *always* online, as in always being connected to Xbox Live
while playing.)

 

Havent experienced that....have you tried troubleshooting with support? Sometimes a "hard" reset is all it takes...other times people find out they have a bad hdd or other internal problems and have to rma it.

 

You need to do better because you make no sense!

 

The primary fix is not to turn it off but to empty the always filling Cache. This unfortunately for now is done by holding the power button.

To clarify for Harrisment...

Xbox One was touted to be an "always online" experience. It was supposed to allow updates to download and install with little to no user intervention.

Every single update (about 5) requires that you turn off the Xbox One. When you turn the console off, it is not on. It's off. That's not what Microsoft promised.

This is a real problem because they advertise that you can turn the Xbox on by saying "Xbox On". But, when the console is powered down, you can't use Kinect to turn it on. You can look like a fool when you are talking to a powered down Xbox though.

 

Wow, Its a computer, most OS updates require a reboot which is what your doing.

 

I power my Xbox on with "Xbox On" every time. You have to have your Xbox set to Instant On mode. The Xbox One works as advertised. It's not an always online experience because cry babies bitched and made Microsoft change that.

Also, you can install updates without signing out. I do it all the time. It's simple and easy. Unless you mean the main system updates and there's no way to avoid installing those without the console restarting. There's not a device out there that can completely
update the OS without requiring a restart. And there's been 3 OS updates for the Xbox(Not counting the day one update)

There's nothing that's really "broken" about the Xbox One. If anything, you're making yourself look like a fool by not looking into how everything works.

 

First, the update should download and the system should remain on for the command "Xbox On". But, it is shut down without your knowledge. This ruins the "Xbox On" command.

Then, there are too many bugs. These bugs creep up at unknown times. The fix is almost always to turn the Xbox off. There are so many bugs, that it makes sense to disable standy mode. This means that it's always off when you're not using it.

So, the "Always Online" option is broken.

 

So 3 or 4 times in 4 months the "Xbox On" Command has been unavailable because of an update. Yeah its broken lol

Rippen, I noticed the silver and almost thought on passing you a card or 2, then I thought it was against the rules. But it's a bug.

 

So what is it ? A computer ? Broken ? Or both ?
