Alternatives to awful official XB1 controller

As I'm sure a lot of you already know, the XB1 controllers are terrible in terms of build quality. Despite me only having the console for six months, I've had four controllers break on me. Every on has been the same; while playing FIFA and quickly changing
direction, the left thumb stick cracks and then starts rattling and becomes unplayable. Joy.

Luckily the shop I purchased from allows me to return for a new controller but I'm sick of them dying on me. I played the 360 religiously for years and never had one controller break. It's unacceptable.

I'm just wondering if there are any third party controller alternatives? I found PowerA's controllers and they look good but with no port for the Xbox microphone, they're useless to me. If anybody can give me some advice, I'd really appreciate it!

Charging Controller Powers on XB1

I have an official Xbox Controller, rechargeable battery and charging kit. When I finish playing the XB1, I select the power off function from the center button of the controller. The XB1 powers off as normal. However, as soon as I plug the controller
into the charging cable the XB1 immediately powers back on. Sometimes it takes a while pushing the button on the console to get it to power off. When I plug the controller into the charger, I don't want my XB1 to come on. Can you please fix this issue with
a future software update?

Exactly, the official controllers are the best. I use the xb1 controller on ps4/ps3/360, this is all with the Cronusmax. I feel a bit burned with the elite falling apart since it was expensive, though the ergonomic design of the xb1 controller is a winner.
Currently the 2013 controller is on my ps3, the halo controller is on my ps4, the xb1 just uses both.

 

you are asking if their are 3rd party controllers for xb1? ..yes. infact, in an uncommon practice, they've even licensed a few (like the "official stamp of approval.") they are listed under the accessories portion of the online store of this very website.

But, I'm curious...how are so many controllers being rendered unusable by your watch? Are you letting your friends use/borrow them? I used to hateee letting my friends use mine...they would neer take me seriosuly when id ask they be kept dirt and GREASE
free. Seriously, nothing makes me more displeased then a controller like the ones you've seen at the old trial setups at stores. i just like a dry and clean surface to ensure full-grip. Moreover, i had 1 or 2 friends who weren't inherent gamers. They didn't
respect the controller.

I must sound pretty finicky here, but think about it. I play xbox one for prob like 4 hours a day. my 'B' button is sticking. not by my neglect, i assure you. So everytime i press that button, I'm annoyed. if I'm playign online shooters, i need buttons to
function as intended.

This is my first controller. xbox would prob never replace my controller, because there are too many who treat them like toys (they aren't toys.) and demand a replacement for they destroyed because they dont know the value of a dollar.

Your lucky your store keeps giving you replacements. you seem well-spoken and sensible, so im sure you arent someone mistreating them.

Me, my button is extremely stiff and sticks. and i've never allowed dust to come by it. its not from candy or anything. and im passed warrantee, so ive got to buy another when i feel like another 60 dollar hit. for now, i work in some isopropyl alcohol (id
never use unless it was just to squeeze more life ouit of a faulty device.) and it frees up for a couple hours.

Anyway, yeah. i havent personally used a 3rd party controller. BUT ive been loking them over. and made an observation. the xbox "approved" 3rd party ones...look ALOT like they are somehow made by the same engineers. meaning...if the same inner parts are
being applied, your problems will grind on.

let me know what one you decide on.

 

Have you tried not to use a hulking force to change directions ?

I can't think of any third party controller that has reinforced thumbsticks though. Scufgaming is a 3rd party controller "manufacturer" which I have used, the only downside is the price. They have their own solid plastic thumbsticks which might be stronger
than the default Xbox One thumbsticks. So if you're willing to spend big bucks you could get one of those, with grips, different thumbsticks, paddles on the back but it would probably set you back 90-150$
