Alternate ways to pay for Xbox Live.

Hello.

Currently I subscribe to Xbox Live at the $60 a year level I barely got in under the gun before ultimate was required. (I may be misperceiving it but there seems to be no option for $60 for a year of Xbox Live)

Why was Xbox Live Gold called gold in the first place, when the choice was either pay for online games or get locked out of online games?

The term gold implies there's a silver. But silver is nothing.

Just as your packages that go for the Big spender, here's some packages you could offer on the other end.

One I noticed most of the free games that I get I either a have no interest in but collect the digital license anyway because it's either collect or get nothing, or I already have or was a game one day I was planning to buy. I had that twice with idarb and knight squad.

I wouldn't mind paying $20 a year for Xbox silver which would be no free games just the online service.

And if there's a silver there must be a bronze so what can we do for the bronze? I totally free online service but if you can't pay with money you pay with time.

This would be good for people who rarely play Xbox.

What you would do is you would play a 30 second video commercial before you hook up head to head for a 5-minute matchup against someone.

If that were the average that would be 6 minutes of commercials per physical hour of gaming on Xbox. Considering that broadcast TV is anywhere between 12 and 15 minutes of commercials for broadcast hour, gaming is somewhat a better value.

And unlike TV shows where most people watch just once and rarely watch a second time on reruns unless the one of the few series they're obsessed with, because each individual playthrough is different from a previous one there'll be more individual playthroughs of a game therefore gaming would be a better place to put commercials than TV.

Oh by the way I'm not making gold worse I'm making silver better and creating a bronze which also has the ability to play games online.

People have been going into Xbox platinum and Xbox diamond.

Finally I'd like to see some of the original Xbox games get back to online. Why offer them in the game with gold package but not reinstate their online portions?

silver and gold was from the 360 days.

silver account was free, and basically offline play

gold was online play with cloud storage, chat and messaging

then it has been adapted over time.

shop around as you can still get 12 month codes online for live cheap.

1: You dont need "Ultimate" that is part of Games Pass and unless your actually using Games Pass then you dont need it.

2: Its called Xbox Live Gold because back in the Xbox 360 days their was Gold and Silver, Gold allowed you to play online (and other things) Silver had no online play.

3: There are rumours that eventually Microsoft is going to scrap Xbox Live Gold altogether and make online free for everyone and just have Games Pass and Games Pass Ultimate, I suspect this will happen once the Games Pass subscriptions are high enough.

4: Xbox has removed the need for online play with F2P games, so they are slowly moving towards what I have said above

5: Making OG Xbox games online capable isnt quite as easy as you think, they all need servers which considering the amount of people playing these OG Xbox games will be small, is it really worth spending money on?

Or sign up & use Microsoft Rewards if it's available in your region.I can't remember the last time i paid for my gold/ultimate sub thanks to rewards.

Xbox Live has never been worth paying for.

However, unless you want a 360 console that is severely handicapped, there really isn't an alternative...
