Already giving away a free game while ignoring day 1 purchasers?

I find it incredibly disappointing that as someone who purchased the Xbox One on Day 1 I now see that if I had waited just 3 months I could have gotten a free game with my system.

When the 3DS dropped in price 6 months after release, Nintendo realized this would upset people who paid full price, so they created the ambassador program. That is a company who is aware of how their actions affect their customers.

I'll be very frank here, I have not found much use for my xbox one since purchasing it. I actually had to unhook the system on Thanksgiving Day because the cable box pass-through decided to start acting up, and we couldn't watch the football game. I've
spent more time playing peggle 2 than any of the launch titles, and I've probably only played peggle 2 for about 3 hour. I get that new systems often don't have much content, and that is fine. But the simple fact is that when it comes to actual current gen
content that is exclusive for each system, my ps4 is dropping free games on me every month (resogun, don't starve, contrast, dead nation, and then there are all the f2p games as well), while Xbox gave me a fighting game w/ one character to choose from and
decided to reward holdouts with a free $60 game.

I simply don't see why people who already purchased the system, especially those who were loyal enough to preorder and help generate word of mouth, would be totally left out. It's not lie the system has been out a year or so and this is a price drop or a free
pack in to help generate excitement.... no, we are talking three or our months since launch.

This has basically taught me to wait with microsoft. There is no point in going day 1 when the company is more concerned about giving free stuff and incentives to new players than supporting the people who made launch day what it was.

Xbox One should give us Forza 5 for free with our console purchase Xbox One would sell like hot cakes.

PS4 is giving away a free game on launch while Xbox One is not so Xbox One needs to give 1 game also since there 100$ more in price.

 

Maybe next time you'll wait. Please stop spamming and next time post in one of the other 40 existing crying entitlement threads.

How about, you get to play the console the day it is released?

 

Stop being dictators asking for threads to be locked down, the guy makes a comment you choose to comment or not, if nobody does the thread dies off, if you choose to comment then its a hot topic, and if it becomes an hot topic then deal with it

 

oh goody, I get to play a buggy console that has a poor assortment of launch titles.

The simple fact is that there is precedent for this sort of thing. In the past, when a game company has either added packins or done price-drops, they have generally extended an opportunity to recent purchasers to take advantage.

As it stands, anyone who might be thinking about buying an xbox 1 simply won't do it. Why pay $500 for a system right now when you can pay that amount in a few weeks and get a free game with it?

Combine this with the price drop in the UK and it shows that MS has had a poor launch and is scrambling to generate interest. It's not surprise that when I go to CostCo, Target, or Best Buy I see stacks and stacks of X-Box 1's laying there. And yet, to
date, I have yet to see a PS4 available for sale.

If you guys are such fanboys that you don't care that microsoft is trying to bribe new purchasers in with free stuff and price drops while totally ignoring the base group that purchased their system in the first place, then that is too bad for you. Accusing
me of whining or crying and all that is simply immature, and it reflects poorly on this board. If these 5 replies are any indication of the level of discussion on this forum, then it explains why there have been so few threads started since the launch of
the system. It appears to me that you guys are quite happy circle jerking each other while running off anyone who dares criticize your precious xbox.

I am content knowing that I have enough money to purchase both systems, which means I don't have to pretend one of them is an infallible god simply to make myself feel better about the fact that I don't have both. Or, if that was over your head, I don't
have to act like a childish fanboy simply to justify my purchase.

Then again, I'm an actual adult as well. I purchase these things with my own money, so therefor I take interest in their value. I'm guessing most of you had your mommies and daddies purchase yours.
