Allowing my child to play multiplayer on Minecraft Java edition on his computer.

I cannot get my son’s Minecraft to enable the multiplayer button in Java edition. It is updated to the most recent update. I had found a similar thread and downloaded the family app. I was able to see that Minecraft was not allowed for multiplayer so I selected this option and then restarted his computer. When I rebooted the game it still shows that he cannot select the multiplayer option. I appreciate any help to solving this.

    :)

Allowing my child to play multiplayer on Minecraft Java edition on his computer.

Hi there! My name is Darhyl and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your son's Xbox privacy setting issue. No worries, let me help you sort this out.

Based on the description you provided, it means the system has detected that the multiplayer feature on your son's account is still disabled. A child account can't manage the privacy settings on its own, you need an adult Microsoft account to manage the privacy settings for your son.

A child account is registered on the birthdate 21 years old and below upon the account's first creation while an adult account is registered on the birthdate 22 years old and older.

Note: Ensure that your adult account is the "Organizer" and your son's account is the "Family Member" to make this work.

I understand that you have already made changes on your son's account settings. Kindly try to manage your son's account privacy settings this way just in case this would work according to the official Xbox website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help...ttings by selecting View details & customize.

"Sign in to your adult Microsoft account at Xbox.com.

Select your Gamertag, and then select the More actions button (…).

Select Xbox settings, and then select Privacy & Online Safety.

Note: Because you’re accessing sensitive info, you may have to enter your password or PIN.

Select the gamertag for the child account that you want to manage.

Select either the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety tab or the Privacy tab.

Review the current settings and update all of the options as "Allow" and "Everyone", and then select Submit to save the changes.

Note: You must select Submit at the bottom of the page before leaving or switching to another tab. If you don't submit the changes before you move to the other tab, your changes won't be saved."

Then check if your son will be able to play Multiplayer on Minecraft Java Edition.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

    Best Regards,
    Darhyl

I can't play multiplayer on java?? It says I have to check my microsoft account I can't find anything though

    Hi lev!

May I know if this is your first time trying to play multiplayer in Minecraft Java Edition?

On which server are you trying to play?

I recommend to check the article here about multiplayer of Minecraft Java Edition. Make sure check if you have the right setup.

    https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/44...

If it's asking you to update your Microsoft's account privacy, please go to https://account.xbox.com/Settings and allow the settings needed for communicating with other players.

Is it possible to play with PS4 Minecraft and Java Edition Minecraft together on the same account?

Simply put. No. It is not currently possible to play local multiplayer Java to bedrock Minecraft. (assuming your not running the Minecraft PS4 Edition of Minecraft). Which would still be no. There are plugins for java that allow bedrock clients to connect to java servers but that feature is not on current consoles. Sorry for the inconvenience. Happy gaming!

Windows 10 minecraft and java edition are both two different types of Editions unfortunately you would have to buy the java edition on the minecraft website.

Multiplayer in Minecraft Java for pc.

    Hello Kids Dad,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I can see that you're having trouble with Minecraft Java multiplayer. Just to clarify, Minecraft Java and Minecraft Bedrock are two different versions of the game, and they have different multiplayer options.

For Minecraft Java, you can play multiplayer by either joining a server or creating your own server. To join a server, you'll need to know the server's IP address and port number. To create your own server, you can use software like Minecraft Server.

If you're trying to play Minecraft Bedrock multiplayer, you'll need to make sure that your child has an Xbox Live account and that their account is set up for online multiplayer. You can check this by going to the Xbox website and signing in with your child's account. From there, go to the "Privacy & online safety" section and make sure that "Join multiplayer games" is set to "Allow".

If you've already done this and your child still can't play multiplayer, it's possible that there may be an issue with your network settings or firewall. You may want to try resetting your router or contacting your internet service provider for assistance.
