Allowing cross-platform play onn Minecraft on PS4 through Microsoft account

thanks so much for your reply! Yes, there don't seem to be any problems with any other games (ie fortnite, fifa) which he will play online and/or cross-platform. When I log into my Microsoft family account there are no restrictions set for him, and when
he logs into his Microsoft account it doesn't show any settings under privacy which are in relation to online or cross-platform play. It's so frustrating!

thanks so much for your reply! So he is playing FROM a PS4, which seems to be causing the problem with the Microsoft account we have to link to. He can play other games cross-platform fine, it's just Minecraft that's causing problems. Any ideas?

Have you tried to change both his PSN and Microsoft Account privacy settings?

Yes I would double check the settings on both accounts and make sure that they allow crossplay. There is also a setting on Xbox in the Privacy settings to allow play outside of Xbox Live, so make sure that this is set to Allow and not Block, otherwise
it will not allow him to connect to PS4 players.

I have linked my Microsoft account to my PS4 account in order to play cross platform minecraft. The issue is that I would like to play cross platform with my brother, who is playing using my Xbox One. My microsoft account is now associated with
both my PS4 account and Xbox Live account, which means that we share a gamertag. For this reason I cannot add my Xbox account as a friend on Minecraft and cannot play cross platform. I attempted to resolve this issue by unlinking my Microsoft account from
my PS4 account but this did not resolve the issue. I was unable to link a different Microsoft account to my PS4 account, a message informed me that my account was already linked to another and could not be linked again.
