Options are great! With that being said, personally don't see a need...mere seconds to use voice commands or the controller to get the same results. Do people really switch back and forth between "Instant On" and "Energy Saver" that much to want this option.
I have two consoles; the one in the living room is instant on, and the one in the bedroom is energy saver so I don't hear the background updates.

I can understand people wanting instant on during the day but wanting to engergy save at night, although it also defeats the object of instant on, eg downloads in the background.

Perhaps the reason they don't switch back and forth so much is because the option isn't there. It's the reason I don't.

^You did, however miss the point I (and the OP) was making, or just chose to ignore it, when you said "like i say just open the guide and the option to restart or shutdown is at the bottom of there." That option only provides the options you listed. It does
NOT provide the option to change from energy save to instant on... which is not as easy to get to if you want to change that feature regularly.

Farscape, just checking but you are fine with limiting Options for others because you are afraid you might not be able to learn a new Feature?

Doesn't bother me, i have power saving adapters which turn the plug off when I turn the TV off, so it would be irrelevant to me, I can see why people would like it.
