Allow Minecraft Disc Installation

Because the game shows up on the My Games feature twice, there is no option to install Minecraft. Can you guys fix this so that Minecraft can be installed?

It sounds like you still have the disc installation on your system and it's defaulting to that.

Delete the file and it should allow you to play from download.

 

How to install a game to your Xbox 360 hard drive

You can play a game directly from the game disc without installing it to your hard drive. But you can also install it to improve load times and minimize game disc access.

Installation Process:

• First, you need to insert the game disc into your disc drive. The game will start as the default option is to automatically start the game. If the game starts, you’ll have to exit the game, and get back to the Xbox Dashboard.
• You need to go to Home and highlight the game you want to install with your controller.
• Press X on your controller and select Install to Hard Drive.

You’ll see a progress indicator while your game is being installed to your hard drive. The installation might take up to 12 minutes.

Notes:

• Your hard drive must have sufficient free disc space as installing a game requires between 4 and 8 gigabytes of free disc space.
• You also need to have the game disc to start the game once you have installed it on your hard drive. But the benefits are that installing games on your hard drive minimizes game disc access and reduces load times.
• You are not allowed to install Original Xbox games on your Xbox 360 hard drive.

 

Minecraft can indeed be installed. However, if you already have the Live version of the game, that would be why it shows up twice, once for the disc, and once for the downloaded version. Delete any Minecraft titles from your HDD, and then go into the game
menu from the home screen. Install the game from there.

 

Actually, I do not own a downloaded version of Minecraft. The game still appears twice.

 

It shouldn't. Remove your disc, go into storage, delete everything in relation to Minecraft. Re-insert your disc. Press X on the home page, hit install. If that doesn't work, clear your cache before following the aforementioned steps.

 

Tried that, didn’t work. May I request that you fix this error (which, as far as I am aware, applies to other Live games released to retail disc) in a System Update?

You're bumping an old topic. This doesn't happen on my console; so it's an issue tied to your console. Delete everything in relation to Minecraft. Install the game as you normally would. It's really simple. You still need the disc to boot the game, and the
disc will still spin up for a few minutes after you start it.

 

I removed all traces of minecraft and tried to install the game the normal install page didn't give me the option to install just the option to play. I have tried a few ways to save the game to my hard drive and none have worked.

could this have been caused by the latest update. as I had two player issues as well.
