Allow a 'child' access to the internet to play games on line

I have two grandchildren who live together approx 30 miles away from me. They have an xbox 360 which they have played on line with friends. At Christmas they got an xbox 1. I am the 'adult' of our 'xbox family' and they each have a separate 'child' account.
I am trying to set up the 'family' from my laptop via
    www.xbox.com
    .

I sent them an invitation to join the 'family' and they both accepted, and I got an email confirming that they were accepted as members of our group. When I log in to either of their accounts via my laptop and click on 'family', both their accounts show
us as a group of three members without showing who is the adult or who are the children. However, when I log onto my account I can see
me as the 'adult' and the other two under the 'child' heading. When I go onto the section where I can see and edit the permissions required to go on line, only my account and one other account can be seen - and no sign of the other account
being listed. (The xbox actually belongs to this particular account holder and he wants to join his friends and ply games with them on line)

I have tried a number of suggested ways to sort it but without success. Am I missing a trick here?

If anyone can help me sort this - I would be most grateful - as would my grandson.

    :)

    EA games with Child accounts

My son has a child account under my adult account. He is 14 years old but finds he cannot play EA games on line with his friends. I have been informed that EA policy is not to grant access to anyone with a child account on line access. The only way this
can be overridden is if his account is an Adult one. Simple, you would think. Apparently not. Xbox does not allow a change to a child account until that account reaches 18 years old. It cannot be changed on line by myself and Xbox will not do it as its against
their policy. Unless I am missing something, no child with a child account can play EA games on line. Please tell me I am wrong and there is a way around this. If not, I have a very unhappy child, who now has EA games that he has paid full price for but are
    restricted in their use.

  3. Child Accounts Unable to use Gold Membership on Parent Account

    Good day,

I have a child account that cannot access the my parent account which has Live Gold membership. Child account trying to purchase a game but it will not allow using the Gold membership price. Also unable to download free games via the Gold membership. Xbox
One is set as the "home" box for both child and parent. So why is it that the child account appears to have no access to Gold?

On the Xbox 360 all accounts will require a separate Gold subscription in order for them to play online.

Not an ideal situation but you can pick up a cheap subscription from cdkeys.com

Are you trying to let them share your Gold on the One? If so their Xbox needs to become your Home console.

That option can be found in Settings, Personalisation, My Home Xbox, and as far as I am aware it can't be done over the internet, only when you are logged into the console itself. Once their console is your Home system then they'll have access to your Gold
subscription for as long as that is the case.

Many thanks for that. I am going to see them this weekend and will go onto the console there.

It would appear from information I have obtained from local friends, and like you suggest, that it is better to

access the console directly, rather than trying to do work remotely from my lap top.

    fingers crossed!

    Family Setup to share content

Is B the childs home Xbox?

You have to set the childs console as your Home xbox, you can then log out and the child will have access to games and live on that Xbox. You can then login on the other console and play your games and use live. You have to remain signed in on that console,
to allow the child to use it.
