    Allow 4K Option Stopped Working


    Since day one my X1S had working 4K/HDR functionality. All options under Advanced video settings were able to be checkmarked giving me a 4K signal that was displaying correctly...except for Netflix 4K, I am still awaiting help in the other forum for that
    topic. Now all of a sudden 1080P is the highest resolution my X1S will output and "Allow 4K" can no longer be checkmarked. This happened on its own and I did not change anything to cause this. I have tried going through all set up procedures on all of my components
    and triple checked all of the settings. I have restarted and hard reset the X1S numerous times. I am using a Sony TV XBR-65X930D, confirmed in manual that all HDMI ports are HDCP 2.2 compliant, properly set to 4k and all HDMI inputs changed to accept advanced
    4K/HDR 4:4:4 signals. A Marantz SR7010 Receiver, confirmed in manual that all HDMI ports are HDCP 2.2 compliant and that all HDMI inputs are set to accept advanced 4K/HDR 4:4:4 signals. Xbox One S using the supplied HDMI Cable in the box. All three also have
    the latest software/firmware updates. It seems very odd that it would work as intended and then all of a sudden stop on its own... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi guys I bought a lg 27ud58 4k monitor today I've managed to get it working in 4k though I'm getting no sound through the monitor at all has anyone else had this option

    4K UHD HDR Stopped Working properly

    Same here. Hoping they patch it soon. It started happening after the May 5th update to movies and TV. Very frustrating.

    This issue has suddenly resolved itself, I don't know what changed but it's working now.

    Xbox One S doesn't recognise 4K compatibility on a 4K projector

    Finally, I took my Xbox one s to my friend's house and connected it to a 4K OLED TV. And I can see the 4K and HDR signals working fine. I used the same HDMI cable that was connected to the 4K projector. But when connected back to the projector and selected
    the option Allow 4K I see the message the TV doesn't support 4K. But Allow HDR is fine on the Projector. I don't know where the issue is. The projector seems to work fine with Apple TV 4K, Firestick 4K and nVidia Shield TV with 4K HDR signals. The issue seems
    to be with the Xbox the way its detecting the signal on the TV.

    I found my problem: At some point i have checked the option "Allow YCC 4:2:2" at Display & sound/Advanced video settings. After unchecking, my 4K/HDR games work fine, and no more connection loss with my TV. So be sure to see if it is checked. When you select
    this option, the Xbox explains that this option will help out 4K problems with some tv's. Since mine has no problems with this option unchecked, it does not need to be turned on.

    I hope this info also helps out other gamers. So if your tv does not work properly with 4K HDR games with this option unchecked, you might try to turn this option on, and see if that helps.
