All Xbox One controllers have stopped connecting to the console

Hi

A few days ago all my Xbox one controllers stopped connecting with my Xbox one console. I cannot get any controllers to sync. I've tried new batteries, doing a hard restart, turn off, left off for days. I've tried connecting without kinect connected, nothing
seems to work.

When powering on the controllers the xbox button just flashes.

The controllers all work via usb cable and are all up to date.

The newer controller I have is able to connect to the Windows 10 PC and works fine; I can stream to laptop and play game with wireless controller via the PC.

Nothing has changed in the room with the Xbox, no new devices, interference sources.

Do you have any suggestions to fix this and what might be causing this? Can I run any further diagnostics to understand the issue?

How to connect a wireless controller to an Xbox 360 console

If you want to connect a wireless controller to your console, follow the steps bellow:

• First, you need to turn on the console.
• Insert the AA batteries into the controller.
• Now you need to turn on your controller by pressing and holding the center Xbox Guide button. You should check the batteries if the controller does not turn on. If it is a rechargeable controller, you’ll have to ensure that it is charged properly.
• After turning on the controller, you need to press and release the connect button on the console.
• You also have to press and release the connect button on the controller within 20 seconds to connect the controller to the console.

Notes

When the controller is connected, the lights surrounding the power button on the console stop flashing.

You are allowed to connect four controllers to a console. Each connected controller is assigned to one of four positions and each position corresponds to a lighted section around the console’s power button and the controller’s Xbox Guide button.

Firstly you will need to sync the 2nd controller to the console,details here
support.xbox.com/.../connecting-game-controllers Also,not all games have split screen multiplayer/co-op so check that as well.

 

##ISSUE FIXED##

Changing the WiFi card didn't fix the issue.

So I did a system reset (keeping games and apps) which fixed the issue, now all my controllers connect. Wish I had tried this before replacing the WiFi card!

The other problem I had was my Xbox was taking a while to boot and shutdown, this was also fixed after doing a system reset.

 

The controller connectivity issue has come back again. Resetting system fixed the issue for a few hours, but same problem came back quickly.

When the problem started again, all the controllers kept on dropping connection and reconnecting, until eventually the controllers failed to stay connected.

I'm starting to think it's related to bad software updates as there was a recent O/S update.

Any suggestions??

Sorry i can't help, but i seem to have a similar problem which i cant seem to resolve.

i was playing a game the other day which froze for a few seconds then carried on, a few minutes later the TV screen went blank and my controller started flashing.

Since then i have not been able to get anything working on the TV or controller, i can start the consol using the controller but that is about it!!!!!!

How do i carry out a system reset?

When resetting console choose to keep games and apps otherwise you will need to reinstall everything.

After this reset you will have to add your accounts again.

I haven't tried doing a complete reset that removes games and apps, but i don't think this will make a difference.
