All Third Party Headset Echo/Poor Sound Quality Issues With Headset Adapter

Hey everyone! If your looking at this, your probably in the same boat as I am..... frustrated that my headset sounds like an alarm clock radio speaker and everything echos. We had high hopes of everything sounding superb once we bought the headset adapter,
updated our controllers, fired up the system, and only to be let down when it sounded like we were playing in a coffee can. Well sit tight and read on, hopefully this will lead you to gaming bliss once again!

I have a set of Turtle Beach X41's. And, without any connection (chat cable) or trying to communicate in party/game chat, they sound amazing. Just like they do on my 360. But, when I plug into the adapter and the controller with the chat cable, and raise
the volume on the adapter to hear in game voice, the sound degrades exponentially with every button push. >.<

Well I did some digging and found a possible solution. The video makes sense, although it's not the best quality, but heck.... who cares as long as it works. I'm gonna try this later when I get home, and I will get back to you as to the results.

Hope this helps, and if your having the same problem, maybe post to this thread as to what kind of headset you have and what the results are?

Be well and see you on the Battlefield!

Here's another that explains the same thing.... just differently. LOL

  2. Enabling sound from a connected monitor with a headset

Hello, you would need to purchase a stereo headset designed designed for the Xbox One in order to get your game sound through your headset. Microsoft has their own variant

    www.xbox.com/.../stereo-headset
but there are third party companies which sell certified for Xbox One (Just make sure it says it's available for use with Xbox One).

    Third party XBox One headsets
    www.xbox.com/.../third-party

If you buy a third party headset you may also need to purchase the Xbox One chat adapter so you can connect your headset to your controller

    www.xbox.com/xbox-one/accessories/headsets/stereo-headset-adapter

Some companies include them in the box, some don't.

Either way if it comes in the box or not you need to wire your controller up to your Xbox One in order to download the firmware for the chat adapter to it

Turtle Beach X41 - ECHO Problem

I have the Turtle Beach X41 and got the Xbox One Headset Adapter. I am able to hear the game sound normal through headset (although not sure if it's in surround sound yet) however when i'm party chat, whenever people talk they hear an echo of their voice.

Now on the Xbox 360 all i had to do was change party chat to play through speakers instead of headset to eliminate the echo. Now, i'm unable to determine how to fix this issue on the Xbox One.

    Please help.

Turtle Beach X41 - ECHO Problem

I hate to break it to you, but there is nothing fixed. I did all the things that Turtle beach said to and the echo & poor quality of sound continues. Everything sounds perfect when the volume is down on the adapter..... but when you raise the volume to heat
in-game or party-chat, the quality of the overall sound degrades to the sound of a clock radio speaker. And in addition, everything echo's as stated above. I ensure you, all settings are correct. C'mon support..... let's get this straight?

    xbox one Microphone problems

    Hey there Chris!

I just wanted to address that the adapter is more for helping the third party headsets connect to the Microsoft controller. If all your headsets are third party, I would agree with @Brad and see if trying an adapter helps out.

    Thanks!

    Headset not working

Are you using a third party controller? If not, you may require a headset adapter (as stated above). Xbox controllers have a unique input jack size that work with Xbox headsets or require an adapter to work with third party headsets.

All of a sudden 2 Different Headsets for XBOX One S Wired Controller stopped working Cant UnMute Known Issue With no solutions

    Hello all,

Sorry for the issue with the headsets. We are aware of the issue, but due to the headsets are third party we are limited to what we are able to do. There have been some that in purchasing an adapter, where the headset plugs into instead of directly into
the 3.5mm jack this has been known to work. As with third party the software when an Xbox update comes out is for first party items, not third party unfortunately this causes them to mess up from time to time. Try getting the adapter and let us know how it
    works for you.

    Thanks,

    Brad
